PPS: there is an EULA that actually says you cant cheat in this game.... im rather certain it applies to every situation, even being invaded.
Newsflash: Almost no one actually holds this opinion, and anyone who says they do is either too young to to taken seriously or more likely attempting to bait replies.
Freakin' agreed. The game's made as it is to have some balance, reward skill and wit, as well as one's effort to gain new gear and use it effectively. If you'reb being invaded it does NOT award some special privelege that makes hacking the game okay.
For goodness sake, the game's policies, those things you read BEFORE SO MUCH ASS CREATING A CHARACTER'S SAVE FILE states that you agree not to do such things to it.
Using cheats offline is one thing, go wild. Might as well be mods. Heck, there are even special servers for people that do that stuff. However, grouping cheaters into the game with normal players just takes away from the effort and time of others.
Dying because an invader or invadee is invulnerable and unstaggering -Or like a previous haxor I encountered, is invincible, runs at the speed of ping but CAN be staggered...- does have reprecussions. For all I know, had I died against him my souls might've been lost with no bloodstain to recover them. Wouldn't have been the first time -Again, that Sanik bugger...- it'd happened. Not only that, but sometimes you can't simply black crystal out.
I'm sure you're aware, but to disconnect via crystal you need the time to use the item without staggering. Not doable if you're under attack by a foe with endless stamina, broken hitbox weaponry or insane melee/run speeds.
I got lucky this time. His cheating backfired in that he couldn't hit me or certain other players, though we could all hit one another.
Still not sure why there was ONE guy that could hit and be hit by the host.
I was lucky in that this guy applied cheats without great effect beyond a huge waste of time for those SEARCHING for hosts to invade due to the ever-building group of people that were more or less being forced to fight one another or leave.
At least it wasn't Sanik the Red Soul.
That was the worst. Worse still that the post I mentioned him by name in got shut down for "Player shaming" due to Steam's policies.
Seriously. Steam, Y U protect the identity of Dank Souls haxors?
They's bad peples. Let everyone know what they are.
SHAME. SHAME. SHAME ON THE DIRTY HACKS.
LET THEIR FILTHY HABIT BE KNOWN FAR AND WIDE,
THEIR INFAMY SPREAD ACROSS THE WEB LIKE SOME VIRTUAL DUNG PILE.
Honestly, I feel it'd be better to label a cheater exactly that rather than banning them from a game or system. Just group them with others of the sort via said Tag.
You're right. Modding Skyrim and other exlclusively single-player games isn't against the law or any user-end agreements, nor is hacking in-game values for them to trigger god-mode or such.
And yes, you can certainly use a black crystal if you're an invader.
However, it is not true that hacking in Dark Souls 3 or any of its prior releases is actually legal and is, in fact, made note of in the user-end agreement before you can even play the game.
"THE GAME IS LICENSED TO YOU ON THE TERMS SET FORTH IN THIS EULA, WHICH CONSTITUTES A LEGAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN YOU AND BANDAI NAMCO ENTERTAINMENT AMERICA INC. (“BNEA”). BY ACCESSING, PLAYING, INSTALLING, OR OTHERWISE USING THE GAME IN ANY WAY, YOU AGREE TO BE LEGALLY BOUND BY THE TERMS OF THIS EULA WITH BNEA."
Later on, listed under "Preconditions of the licenses" and a statement that you must be of-age, as well as accept and comply with all following terms of use...
"You do not use any hacks, cracks, bots, or third-party software, third-party games that may modify or copy, temporarily or permanently, the code or the user experience of the Game, whether on your local machine or on servers that enable use of any features of the Game"
And a warning to those whom ignore these warnings on players' behalves...
"BNEA, in its sole discretion may (either itself or, if applicable, by request to a third-party service provider): (a) remove the User-Generated Content; (b) give warnings to applicable persons; and/or (c) restrict, suspend, or terminate access to and use of the Game without any notice or liability. "
And finally, a few other additions to make this even more crystal clear, these are listed under section 7.3 of Online Conduct, things you AGREE not to do as they will violate the EULA.
• Cheat or utilize unauthorized exploits in connection with the Game.
• Use or exploit any bugs, errors, or design flaws to obtain ununauthorized access to or use of the Game or to gain an unfair advantage over other players of the Game.
However, even I know how to friggin' read.
There's a lot of invincible invaders too and From did nothing about it
So do what everyone else did and keep moving...
The world won't end because of 1 cheating host you've encountered
Also, you need to own the game before complain the PC version, you're like trolling here ¬¬
Just because more than one person does it, this doesn't make it even remotely alright.
Majority does not a correct answer make.
And to be clear, this isn't the only cheating host or invader I've encountered, they're one of many, but the only one I didn't die to immediately as a result of their faulty hack. Thus, I actually got a shot of them and some examples to show they were undoubtably cheating.
Secondly, I'm not trolling. I don't own the game because I gifted it to my brother alongside the DLC. I can play it because, hell, we're siblings in the same home and have sharing between us enabled.
Yes, and only at the cheap cost of ALL THE ESTUS.
PD: If is the first one... let me keep 1; if is the second, give me money to go around the world.
the big problem here is that the host was embered AND online,so they were looking for other people one way or another,we have no proof that they weren't trying to invade and got invaded instead,or they were likely wanting to get invaded with an inablitity to get hit because they are one of the people that feel like Dark Souls shouldn't have invaders to begin with, and that it should hold your hand the whole time like most rpgs,so they try to get "revenge" and try to get others to not invade because they refuse to play a game more suited for them, but insist that other games become easy just for them.invading/being invaded is part of playing online,if you can't accept it,than don't play online,or how about this : don't be embered!you can't get invaded if you arn't embered!so before you get embered, think about wether or not you want to fight an invader before its too late, and if killing a boss makes you embered and you don't want to be,then just jump off a ledge, collect your bloodstain, and oh look at that, you arn't embered anymore!now you can't be invaded!i often don't bother with being embered until i have cleared the area/unlocked the shortcuts because i normally don't feel like bothering with invaders(unless its certain ones, like Kirk or Heysel),but once i have a shortcut open to the boss, thats when i'll pop an ember,as i summon phantoms under the assumption that they just want souls, just like when i place my sign down.if i get invaded i don't just go "oh well this means i can just turn on invincibility now" i FIGHT them (when they arn't friendly that is,i never make the first move),no matter how much i may or may not complain about it,From isn't going to remove an iconic mechanic from their game, and thats what i like about them.Dark Souls is about a challenge, and as such you either have to accept who the game was made for and why,or move on and find a game that suits you better.like playing alone with no multiplayer features?get a single-player game.like playing with possibly thousands of other players at once, maybe even a million?get an MMO.its simple really.and yet its always the people who don't want the invasion mechanics or the challenge that complain about the playerbase being toxic, when its them going up to them, and telling them that the game should be this one, specific way or they won't play it.really shows a lot about them. From already got your money, they couldn't care any more about your view of the game, they will make the game how THEY want to,not how YOU want them to,and this is what people can't ever seem to accept, the soulsborne series' line of games are games known for their difficulty, unforgiveness, lack of hand-holding,lore,and the leader of number of controllers that went fying through the air in one or multiple pieces, and in this day and age, very few people want that kind of game,so most people don't make it,and thats what sets companies like FromSoft and Bandai Namco apart, they arn't afraid to make a challenging game, and as such it gained tons of popularity for being just that,a challenging game, now throw the way its all executed, not the normal way of shoveling story and plot down your mouth like a glutton in a literal mountain of food, but rather steadily and slowly through item descriptions and small bits of npc dialouge, yet even with this there is more lore to it than most rpgs,or even games in general, even though that isn't the focus(at least i don't think it is),combine that with looking great and having actual thought put into it,even in the worst parts, now look at other games that even came later, notice all the soulsborne inspired games that came with it?the ones that tried to mimic the style?i wonder why they did?because even if they failed in a burning heap,or came out on top, they still used the soulsborne games as a base,so it has to be doing something right.
tl;dr : read this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ wall of text because i'm to tired to summarize this and i've seen to much of this "well i don't want a challenge!" bs people are shouting while they want, and continue to,play dark souls, you don't want invaders at every turn but still want to play dark souls, play either of the other ones,i'm sure they will welcome a new member of the community,as they need more to not wither up as fast,so long as you respect the game for what it is
im not coming back to this,i get 10 posts like every two days, and i ain't wasting anymore here
Well, I guess it's fine if you never reply, but you're spot-on, buddeh. Lots of jumbled words, but the point remains the same. This guy, from what I could see and the number of invaders, was trying to get as many to appear as possible. While he killed several, he did let many remain to keep drawing more as the likelyhood of being invaded rises per summon active.
He was trying to annoy invaders and waste their time.
A pretty nasty goal that might be worse than outright killing them all at once?
Hard to say.
