WTF is this extra estus flask i cant use

i have 10 estus flasks but today i noticed i have an ashen estus flask. ive tried going to bonfires and ♥♥♥♥ and even going up to that old blacksmith guy and it only shows 10 estus flasks. so, what is this extra usless ashen estus flask doing in my inventory and can i fix it?

Ashen Estus is used to restore FP (The blue bar). You can use the fourth option on the Blacksmith (Allot Estus) and set it to be empty so your normal Estus flask has 11 rather than 10

Ashen Estus Flask is used for your MP, but if you dont use MP you can go to the Blacksmith and turn that into and extra regular Estus Flask.

Then it's already empty and you've set the amount of Ashen Estus you have to 0 and put it into the normal Estus. It's just there so if you choose to put Ashen Estus into it again it'll be available

Is it a bright blue or does it look greyed out? It might be empty.

its grey but ive gone to the bonefire to refill it and nothing

Go to the blacksmith and choose "allot estus" and see if it has any estus slots on the right side. If it's 10-0 then you have all of your estus alloted to refill your HP. Move 1 or more to the right and that's how many you'll have to refill your FP. Also, while invading or being summoned you will have half your alloted estus, rounded down. So if you have 1 estus alloted to either side, you'll have zero in other people's worlds. If alloted to 3, you'll have 1.

You'll also need to sit at the bonfire after the blacksmith allotment or you won't see the results.

no, okay when i go to the blacksmith it only shows me as having 10 flasks however i have 10 and the ashen flask

The Ashen flask is just an item, it has no actual "juice" left inside it because you put it into your normal Estus flask. You can't move nothing into something and expect more from it

Assuming there's not confusion, it is probably glitched. However, it could be that you allotted all of your estus to HP and forgot that you did. You have to progress pretty far to get 10 estus so perhaps that is the case. For clarity, if you did allot them all to HP, the ashen estus flask will still show and be "useable" as far as you can activate it's empty animation. The same will happen if you allotted all your estus to FP; the HP flask will be "useable" and show the animation where he shakes the flask.

Just letting you know that none of your flask are ashen.
