DARK SOULS™ III
DS3 Doesn't Have an Iconic Mascot Armor Set.
Pretty sad. I'm not accepting Firelink Armor, because it's so silly looking. Dark Souls 1 had the Elite Knight, which is a fantastic armor set, and is very realistic. Dark Souls 2 had some of the best looking armors in the series hands down, because the devs really liked realism, which lead to the titular Faraam Armor, which needless to say, is one of the best looking armor sets of all time. DS3? Firelink Armor looks like a mutated and rotting, skinny Elite Knight armor. I would've preferred a more realistic armor I guess. Mind you, I guess with it being the final game in the series, the titular knight would have to be the conclusive image.

Of course, if I could pick a mascot armor, I'd pick the Evangelist Set IYKWIM ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Dancer's set comes close, I guess. It's seems quite popular and I see it a lot, but maybe it doesn't quite reach the iconic tier.
If this game were to have a sequel (which sadly Miyazaki has promised it will not...), and they were to throw several past sets in, we would learn what is considered "iconic" based on how much people use it. It's too difficult right now because we're currently living in it.

Back when I played DS2 I barely saw anyone using Faraam but now it's consider the DS2 set because: It was in all the promo videos for DS2, it's lived on inside DS3.

If I were to guess, I would say Firelink armor would be the set because of the cutscene coverage and the fact that it was introduced in this game.

No one used the faraam set in DkS2 because the helmet was ugly. It was not even close to the trailers. DkS3 got it right.
I like the Slave Knight Leggings Meta.

I'm pretty sure that default Knight Armor set (which you get when starting as a knight class) is the mascot of Dark Souls 3.
Its him who shows up in all trailers as the main character. Firelink Armor is not exactly the mascot, its just supposed to represent Dark Souls 3 as the end of the series - weird and epic in the same time.
I mean... Its the armor of the boss, not ours.

Gundyr armor master race.
I thought the Elite Knight Armor set was the intended canon one for all the DS games?

Yeah but thats for all the games. DS3 doesn't have one of its own that really stands out for people is what they are saying.

Not really.
Elite Set was canon in DS1.
In DS2 it was the Faraam Set.

And in DS3 its the default Knight Set for Knight starting class, since he's the one who we always see in all DS3 trailers, being beaten in the face by bosses.
Firelink armor is not canon i believe, considering that its an armor set worn by the final boss and you only get access to it once you beat the game.
Wouldn't the 'Dark Souls III Guy' be the Knight Set?

That's what i'm trying to say
I think its more on what Set/Character is on the Cover of the Game.
For
DS1-PtD Edition, Artorias
DS2, Faraam
DS3, Firelinker

I think the main issue is the overall desaturated color scheme of DS3, which makes so many things, including armor sets, look very similar. It is always worst, when I have to decide between legs and gloves, because from the 2d image, I have no clue how different it will look in comparison to the black-bluish-grey right next, and above, and below...to it.
