Did the drop rate for the Mendicant's Staff increase?

Because literally my first 2 Man-Serpent Summoner kills dropped it. And to be clear, I didn't level Luck and I don't have item discovery items active.

you were super lucky. I farmed it recently with crystal rapier, gold serpent ring and mimic head and it took like one hour or so.

Nahh. The drops are just luck based. Not the stat but actual luck. With 50 luck and all the item discovery items I could find, took me 3 hours to get a flamberge. Later I started a new character and got it on my first kill with 0 added item discovery.
