What is Nameless King weak too?

and both lightning and chaos are good for their respective builds depending on what weapon you use it on.

Refined gem is best if you plan to build for pvp, and even that depends of soul lvl because then raw gem could be better.

Also crystal gem could work well for some weapons also.

but fire and deep gem are technically not as good as the others

^ False refined gives majority weapons best damage output especially at 40/40.

Hollow gem is more used for bleed based weapons and when you're 99 hollowing. Raw gem is garbage since it removes scaling. The other gems you listed are redundant spells and resin are better.

Not true, in some cases heavy or sharp are better even for a quality build. The Spiked Mace is a case in point. It goes from A - heavy or E B sharp, or C C refined, both sharp and heavy give more damage than refined.

Can you share why fire and deep aren't as good as the others, especially fire? I am VERY curious.

There's a fair bit of misinformation here from other posters, refined is not necessarily the best for PVP or a quality build, it very much depends on the STR and DEX stats of what weapon you're using. Your best bet to be sure is to test weapons yourself and check the amounts you'd get for upgrades or infusions.

raw gem is actually good for people who want to stay a low soul lvl, makybe you should think about these things.

also i will point out what gems are good and what gems are bad.

Refined gem: the gem used by most people who only want to have no fun and deal damage, uses both strength and dex scaling and makes most weapons better.

Raw gem: best used if you stay a low soul lvl, making you very effective if you are just invading early games areas if you like doing that.

Fire gem: gem used by most speed runners now, at least for the early game, most early enemys are weak to fire making this a great gem to infuse if you want to get through the early game the easy way.

Heavy gem: best used in weapons with already strong strength scaling to make them even better, scales with strength.

Sharp gem: best used in dex weapons, amazing with high dex weapons such as the katana's and scythes

Poisen game: okay poisen sucks don't touch this one please.

Crystal gem: great for weapons that you may want to use if you are running a mage character, make sure to find a weapon that scales well with the gem.

Blessed gem: an okay gem that gives you faith scaling and regens your health slowly, can be stacks with weapon and shield.

Deep gem: deals dark damage which is also somewhat strong for the early game as well, though not really the best gem.

Dark gem: deals dark damage but also increases scaling of a weapon with faith and intelligence, making it a good infusion if running a pyro character (also most people don't have strong dark resistant so it also is good for pvp)

Blood gem: pretty much useless compared to the hollow gem

Hollow gem: infuse into weapons that already have the bleed affix and watch people burst into blood, though must be hollowed and have lots of luch (40) to be best used at least.

Lightning gem: great for faith builds and with the bonus of lightning its also strong in most pvp scenarios, also with a high faith scaling makes its really good!

Chaos gem: great for pyromancer, strong faith and intelligence scaling making weapons infused deal strong fire damage and scales off of your faith and intelligence.

Simple gem: Infuse just like crystal however it has the benefit of what the blessed gem has, but for fp, making it also somewhat good for mages.


Now you can try and believe Zach, and think that all other gems are terrible or you can trust the data that i know and have that these gems are good depending on the build you make.

Also don't be afraid to try a new build just because quality builds are the "best", the only reason they are the best is because people hopped on their band wagon and had no idea how to make their own build for this game.

Trust data? Bud I've sunk 430 hours into this game I've gone through every possible build. You wanna be inefficient fine but don't come crying to me when you get beat down by someone using a better infused weapon.

Quality builds have proven to be the most efficient and so have refined weapons. You'd be surprised how good scaling is. Removing scaling all together makes the weapon lower dps. At low levels no one uses raw. Where you got that claim is beyond me but I take it with a grain of salt.

Only gems worth using is the heavy gem for pure strength and sharp for pure dex. And of course refined and any magic based gem if you're pure magic based.

Anyone else want to share anything about fire gems? I think they're underrated. Also interested in any more thoughts on infusions in general if people have them ^_^
