Anyway, the reason casters in DS3 feel underwhelming compared to DS2 is because the combat is too fast now, but they made spell casting slower. DS2 had a slow paced combat. People moved slower, stamina took longer to regen, but you could cast spells really fast there, like two Chaos Bed Vestige (forbidden sun there) and CSS in a row.
Here in DS3 everyone is faster, but even casting a dart spell seems slow now.
With some practice however, casters can be fun. At least Clerics and Sorcerers. I still have to give a proper try with Hexers and Pyromancers.
