Want to avoid the worst of PVP?
When you get to Archdragon Peak, go offline until you complete the "path of the dragon".

When you kill the Pontiff, go offline until you reach Anor Londo.

When you reach the Ringed City Inner Wall, go offline until you reach the Ringed City Streets.

Those tend to be the worst places where annoying invaders flock. Also, if you get an invader who won't just fight and runs off making it impossible for you to just head to shrine, Alt-F4 is a beautiful thing.

Or you can bring the gank squad then sit back relax and watch the magic happen

Where's going offline in the woods? Can't have online play in active PvP zones, no siree

Almost forgot, another bad area is when you try to go from the Chapel in the Painted World down to the bonfire at the bottom... might as well go offline for those couple minutes just to save yourself the headache.

So I should invade some other parts of the game, gotcha.

That ring only saves you from taking damage on drops which are not fatal. Any fatal drop is still fatal, and having invaders pop in and try do disrupt the annoying descent can be avoided with the very simple and effective strategy of going offline until you reach that next bonfire :)

Indeed. Many places in the game could use invasions. Invading on Archdragon Peak is just a D*ck move. Invading on the descent from the Chapel is just a D*ck move. Invading on the space between the Inner Wall and Streets is just a D*ck move.

Might as well just play offline the whole game then. What a dumb topic.

or don't be embered. and if you kill a boss then kill yourself to be sure that no invaders can have the satisfaction of killing yo

I mean, thats kinda petty way to skip out of a core component of the game. You also lose the feeling of actully winning a PVP.

And don't forget the host has a RIDICULOUS advantage over invaders.

i have been embered my whole play thrugh and have not found a single invader because the way invasions work, the game will only let them invade gank squads. unless you have a phantom helper, there is little chance of getting invaded.

Dumb? PITA areas are PITA. Getting through those solo is the best way to maximize one's time. Some of us have jobs, children, mortgages, wives, a social life, etc etc. So when just trying to play for 20 minutes, usually it's fine. But certain areas of the game are like magnets for complete scrubs who think that invading on tough areas is "cool".

Just tonight I got stuck in the swamp outside Farron trying to get the ♥♥♥♥ out, but I couldn't because I kept getting invaded by ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ from the Watchdogs. By the time I'd kill 1 another 1 would be coming in, and after killing 3 of those ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ then getting 2 on me I finally said "♥♥♥♥ it" and unplugged my ethernet cable because I was trying to get up to the Cathedral bonfire before I had to get off. ♥♥♥♥'s so stupid, and it burned up so much time I've had to call it a night after I was disconnected because I've got work in the morning.
