Is it worth leveling the butchers blade for str. builds?

I wonder if this Butcher Blade you find on Path of Sacrifice NPC-Unkindled,is worth to upgrade?
It scales "A" with STR. so it should get a big bonus....but unmodified its quite weak

Yes. It's super good as a side weapon if you use Yhorm's/FUGS/BKGA or any other big weapon.

It's kinda weak even upgraded. Basically str scaling straight sword.

If you like it, then go for it. Though most people who roll strength build use Yhorm Greataxe, Ringed Knight Paired Greatswords, Black Knight Greataxe, Exile Curved Greatsword, Fume Ultra Greatsword or Ledo Great Hammer.

It might not be the best STR weapon but... I liked it

I like it as it scales to s at +10 and works great on small fast enemies like dogs. Great backup weapon.

And a side weapon? You always go with two weapons. I have been using the Butcher's Knife since the game launched on my STR build. It's fast, deals damage and has superb roll catching. I always paired it with the weapons you listed above, well, apart from Ledo's and those ugly paired slabs.

FightinCowboy made it his primary for his walkthrough for the first half of the game, so I'd think so.

If it doesn't work out, you'll always be able to use Yhorm's Axe and the Fume since they're Strength weapons too.

I never liked it, milwood axe is miles better.

Its range is rather limited, and in 2h mode, its strong attack is just bad. For pure strength builds I just use the great machete until I get Yhorm's Great Machete. It's pretty much easy mode. Farming the Great Machete can take some time... I think my last character took around 40 minutes farming the machete wielder who spawns close to the dilapidated bridge bonfire.

YOU use it as a side weapon, that doesn't mean everyone does. I, personally, am not impressed with it aside from the S scaling in Strength. {EDIT}

ok, I take it back. You & I both like it as a side weapon. Just tried it out on one of my strength build characters and it's really good.

So, listen to GLUE about this weapon.

Hmm...i think i turned Vordts Soul into this Ring which heals you on follow up hits...
Atm im playing with fire broadsword +3 (the broadsword is suprisngly good!) and a heavy claymore +3
I found a Flamberge and wanna turn it to +3 too...the Flamberge Greatsword not only looks cool,but it has a added bleeding Effect to it
