Stuck in Undead Settlement

I am stuck in the Undead Settlement. I am at the point where there is someone shooting arrows at me and i according to the IGN guide that i am following and this is what it says "There’s a giant slinging huge arrows down, and he doesn’t care who he hits. You can try running past, but there’s an easier way, requiring you to take the other path across the bridge from the giant tree pyre." what bridge is the guide refferring to? the one near the bonfire? if that is the case, there is a gate that can not open from that side

As soon as you get to the part with the Evangelic and the horde of workers, hang a right across a bridge and keep following it and open the double doors and you can get there from there, but honestly if you just run and roll you can do it fine, don't forget the Ashes and the equipment set in the cemetery.

Pick up a white branch laying around a white tree where the javelins keep raining down, when you get to the giant (When you meet the Onion dude" take the elevator all the way up. and give it too him, he will never attack you agian, even on multiple playthroughs.

nevermind..i figured it out. had to go back to the first bonfire of the undead settlement and found where i had to go from there

benifit of the doubt, hes on console but knows the steam community has active foums.


iirc if you have a young white branch on your hot bar the giant will not target you

in undead settlement where he shoots there are mutiple of them around a tree

You don't actually need to grab a branch before talking to the giant. Just climb his tower and talk to him. He'll give you a branch and his arrows will no longer damage you.
