Bleed build question.
I want to make a dual wield build focusing on warden twinblades and bleed.

I had a look online for some info on what stats and infusions to take and they patched bleed infusion recently so the info seems confused/outdated.

Logically I would go with a bleed infusion but the general consensus online (without taking into account this recent bleed patch) is that going hollow infusion + carthus rouge is better? I think the hollow also saves me some skill points that I wouldn't need to put into luck if I go that route?

Does anyone have any advice for starting class/bleed vs hollow+carthus/end game stats?
Also do I need to go hollow for the hollow infusion to work? Or does that work if your character is not hollow?

Hollow infusion is still better. At least I still use it. I heard the trade off with phisical damage when you bleed infuse still makes bleed infusion worse than hollow infusion due to the boost in luck hollowed weapons gives you.

I can't be 100% sure though. I use a Hollow bleed build for PvE and it works just fine. I use warden twinblades too.

The old bleed builds were 40/40/40 STR/DEX/LUC w/hollow infusion. I'm not sure how the recent patch effected that though. I wouldn't do a bleed build that's much lower than SL 140, to be honest. I think SL 142 can still match with 120s, so if you're gonna be a bleed build, aim for the high end of the meta range. Oni and oba have a bit higher AR than sellsword twinblades with those stats.

FYI, just an example:

no, SL140 peps can't be matched against SL120 guys, the matchmaking system allows a 10 level diffrence only, so if you want to be against SL120 peoples the max you can go is SL130

It's 10 levels + 10%. If it's not that anymore, show me where they changed it.

didn't they change Sl matchmaking in the latest patch? Not sure it was a big change but I remember seeing something about it. Or was that just for Undead Arena?

This is what they put in the patch notes:

The new matchmaking rules are as follow:

Sign Summons:

Upper limit: SL + 10 + ( SL * 0.1 )
Lower limit: SL - 10 - ( SL * 0.1 )
Way of Blue:

Upper limit: SL + 15 + ( SL * 0.1 )
Lower limit: SL - 15 - ( SL * 0.1 )
Dark Spirit:

Upper limit: SL + 20 + ( SL * 0.1 )
Lower limit: SL - ( SL * 0.1 )
Mound Maker:

Upper limit: SL + 20 + ( SL * 0.15 )
Lower limit: SL - ( SL * 0.1 )
Invasions Covenant:

Upper limit: SL + ( SL * 0.1 )
Lower limit: SL - 20 - ( SL * 0.2 )

Honestly have no idea what it all means so...

Most of the matchmaking changes were to specific covenants. Wider margin for those "hard to get summoned as" covenants.

Sign Summons:

Upper limit: SL + 10 + ( SL * 0.1 )
Lower limit: SL - 10 - ( SL * 0.1 )

For sign summons, this means SL +/- 10 + 10%.

Actually a 120 bleed build would work fine. There isn't much of a different in AR between 40/40/40 and 10/40/40 with sellsword twinblades. The the 40/40/40 build was for the oni and oba , quality-hollow bleed build, which used to be super meta.

SL 120.

Part of the point of the build is that I want to use a dual wield weapon and something that's supposed to be dual wielded (i.e not just a lothric knight sword with a broadsword in the other hand or some other combination of random weapons). So I don't want to use the bandits knife.

I recommend crows talons as a second. Warden Twinblades and Crows Talons (they do bleed damage) Get both to +10 and do hollow infuse (If you go for luck/hollowing anyways) Crows talons are inferior when it comes to Warden Twinblades and bleed but my god that weapon art is so satisfying.
