Crucifix of the Mad King

Is this still a viable PVP weapon? I was thinking of switching to it from Friedas scythe once i get it. Would it still be viable for PVE? Or should i maybe just go for Ledos hammer since i just got it?
Any advice appreciated, bear in mind in not particularly good at PVP so choosing Friedas was probably a mistake in the first place.

You can get it at the very start of the DLC. It is sold by the old lady on the edge of the rocks just before the first drop down after first bonfire in Dreg Heap.

Oh yeah it was the first thing i did when i got there. Looking at the other guys comment i might as well give up on it though.

Mad kings crucifix might be the best weapon in the game, if used right. That's the one weapon in the game I go "oh sh¡t..." when I see it in pvp.

Anything else in the DLC thats would get me far in PVP and PVE? They all look amazing but considering im clueless about nerfs i dont want to make a mistake and respec for a ♥♥♥♥ weapon.

Am I missing something? Did they nerf the splitleaf combo? It does upward of 1000.

Im more about a weapon that wont rely on spamming the same combo over and over again. Maybe something flexible like the ringed knight straightsword?
