Feels pretty accurate, I have tried all parry weapons against the Lothric Knights (to eliminate discrepancies due to ping/latency) and they feel just as fast as described.

This is confusing. The parry animation lasts well over a second (which contains 60 frames), so how does this chart explain the 22 on every parry tool (their animations don't last the same amount of time considering startup, active frames and recovery)?

ok sweet, thank you

That spreadsheet has been around forever, but I don't think they've changed. For the tools I've used, it feels correct.

this sheet only shows startup and active frames

It might not be precise to the frame but it adequately shows when, in relation to the whole animation, thea ctual parrying starts and for how long it remains active, all relative of course.

I've read the chaos blade has much better parry frames than other katanas. Same as bucklers. You'd have to check though, not sure.

Buckler is godlike for parries. You'll love it.

For me the easiest one to use is the parry shield (target specifically), because of the distinguishing animation. Start up brings the shield to position, active frames slightly twist it around its centre and recovery is the large slapping move to the left.

Note: I wish the chart had all the recovery frames and not cut it at 22 so I could relate to the full animation I see on screen. Still helps to choose provided it is relatively accurate.

Parry frames for the targ shield are near automatic. You can judge active frames based on when your stamina depletes. The parry shields are very good, but most opponents start playing around parries as soon as they see em.

I'm using the elkhorn shield, loving it so far. Nice for setup parries with mediocre defense values and stability, also goes really well with my fashion so there's that.
