Storm Ruler only does a little over 3000 damage, two handed charged shot, and that's if I hit him in the head, which is extremely difficult. Most of the time I can only seem to target his torso. I've got him down to around 25% health a few times but then he starts spamming huge attacks continuously. Even if I manage to charge up the shot there's just no opportunity to stop dodging and take the shot. If I'm in close he spams his stomp attack, which flattens me and leaves me vulnerable to a one-shot counter. If I try and stay a little further away he just spams his huge sweep attack and all I can do is roll to the side until I'm exhausted and slip up. I can't seem to get any real distance from him which makes it difficult to aim for his head.Try and run and he just leaps and stays right on top of me, or just quickly runs me down and flattens me.

When I checked a few walkthroughs it seemed that Storm Ruler was doing around 5000 damage and people were getting him in five hits. But I got at least five hits on him quite a few times and he never went below around 25%. And by that point his attacks are continuous and it takes a huge amount of time to get a shot in on him.

I can't remember having this much trouble with a boss in all three games.Is this just a huge endurance test or is there a way to speed this up a little ? Any tips appreciated.

Yeah but he got killed on the first attempt, very quickly while I was grabbing and equipping Storm Ruler. When I came back the next time he was gone and his armor and shield were there. A sad and dissapointing end to that quest.

Damn your yhorm is on steroids then because I've never seen siegward die quickly in that fight. He has died before in that fight, but usually because I wanna see if he can solo it.

Yhorm didn't ewven look at me, he just ran straight for Siegward and started smashing him. It was painful to see.

sieg is pretty stupid in this fight when I try at least. there was a time that he died because he didn't charge his storm ruler a single time! he just tried to swing the sword away at Yhorm.

oh my goodness sieg. how can you be so dumb?

Honestly I had to get someone to co-op and help me for this boss. Even with the Storm Ruler I was doing like 49 damage for standard hit, and 63 damage with my two handed charge attack. I could barely make a dent on him before I ran out of Estus flasks.

I summon this dude and he's throwing some spell at Yhorm that hits with 5k damage and staggers him and I'm just like WTF. My character is high dex and low strength, not sure if that relates to the fact I can virtually do no damage to him.

At least I'm past him now I guess, because on Xbox One I'd given up at this point.

Damn, despite somehow managing to finish the first two games I guess I'm still a complete noob. Since that fact is already established and just to be clear here. We're talking about when you two hand, hold the left trigger and right trigger to gaurd break. I just wasn't holding the right trigger down long enough? Lol sounds about right, spud confirmed.

I finally got him. Thought that was going to take forever. But then before I could even light the bonfire or think about spending my souls I got transported back to High Wall of Lothric, apparently to immeditely get into some other fight. I got some Basin of Vows tihing, don't knoe what to do with that. I just homeward boned it out of there. So I guess it's just continuous boss fights from this point on. And I only got 36,000 souls for Yhorm. I got 50,000 for Aldrich, and he was easier. Seriously dissapointed, don't understand what's happening in the game at this point.
