silver\black knights lore question
so i far is i know there were called just knights when they fought the dragons, when gwyn tried to re-link the flame he took a bunch of those knights with him and they were burned along with him making their armor black so people started calling then "black knights" and the other ones "silver knights" but they are basically the same knights, so why the ♥♥♥♥ does they use different weapons? why there isnt a black knight with a spear or a silver knight with an ultragreatsword even though they are the same knights

no? From what I gather of the events of DS1, the black knights were burned by the flame of chaos, not by the first flame.

They were always silver knights due to wearing silver-white armor.
Yes, black knights were created when they were burned together with Gwyn (or burned in Chaos Flames when they went to destroy it).

Their weapons say "were designed to face chaos demons" so it means they were armed with them post-burning.

Ah it makes sense then.
They were silver knights with anti-chaos weapons, but the chaos flame burned them into the Black Knights.
Which means at some point in time black knight weapons were actually silver?...
Actually here's the thing: black knight have different design of armor. Most importantly perfect hornes on their helmets as opossed to wings.
I do not believe some chaos magic would just reshape their armor like that. Maybe they were like that from the begining, the chaos just eh... change their color maybe and that's it? A little bit?

they did change their equipment to go fight against the chaos demons ,but the reason of their armor being black is clear, it does say they became ash after Gwyn linked the first flame, but only mentions their flesh being burnt away.

Read the description of the black knight shield, it states that they turned black after facing the chaos demons. so yes, It is most likely that the black knights were actually silver before facing the demons, but by the time they turned to ash after Gwyn linked the fire, their equipment was already black.
