Yes, black knights were created when they were burned together with Gwyn (or burned in Chaos Flames when they went to destroy it).
Their weapons say "were designed to face chaos demons" so it means they were armed with them post-burning.
They were silver knights with anti-chaos weapons, but the chaos flame burned them into the Black Knights.
Which means at some point in time black knight weapons were actually silver?...
Actually here's the thing: black knight have different design of armor. Most importantly perfect hornes on their helmets as opossed to wings.
I do not believe some chaos magic would just reshape their armor like that. Maybe they were like that from the begining, the chaos just eh... change their color maybe and that's it? A little bit?
Read the description of the black knight shield, it states that they turned black after facing the chaos demons. so yes, It is most likely that the black knights were actually silver before facing the demons, but by the time they turned to ash after Gwyn linked the fire, their equipment was already black.
