Hopefully this will bring people into this essentially dead game though, so good luck!
This is a game in development and the project made several changes. This one being a major one. If you have read the post, as mentioned in there, it states why the decision to make it free to play was made and that it was us listening to what many players requested to happen. This was not the initial direction/plan at all.
Thanks
I just found it funny that a month and a half ago, Hired Ops was still a pay-2-play game, and then in just that short amount of time... Absolutsoft has managed to completely convert the whole game and all of the coding for pay-to-play, to free-to-play.
That's pretty damned impressive in my opinion, kudos to y'all.
As mentioned in the post for now:
"We also would like to announce that Hired Ops will soon become a free-to-play game."
2nd time happen when russian game dev rip me off
"During this transition to the new monetization model, users who have already purchased the game will be rewarded with a bonus, which is several times higher in value than the current game price, as well as unique premium weapons and camouflage for their in-game characters. With this update, all players will receive one legendary chest with legendary mods for every 10th character level achieved in the previous version of the game."
I agree with you Volt, not a big fan of the "buying" buffs in the middle of a match either.
I do like the class-based leveling. I prefer longer progression mechanics myself. It also makes more sense to me, where people need to pick and choose which class or classes they wish to focus on progressing... based on their individual play style.
I'm not a huge fan of the Tactical Conquest maps though. I miss Construction and Lighthouse, where there are 3 objectives to cap on a larger scale map, instead of the 2 points on CQC maps in Hired Ops.
Hired Ops feels like a weird game to me... not necessarily bad as a few of the aspects I like, but not great either as there are other aspects that I don't care for at all.
