Local Coop and Multiplayer?
Can other players on a separate device join a Local Coop host? Say two players are playing splitscreen on one computer, can another player on a second device join their game?

I did see it is possible to do 4 player splitscreen coop with Nucleus Coop, but it is a bit buggy.

Yes, you can do split screen and over the network at the same time. Still only 4 people per session though.

But be aware that the game doesn't actually support crossplay. Apparently it did between Android and Windows at one point, but they developed the Windows version further.

Yes you can. I've actually tried it today. My wife and I played splitscreen on wide tv while my son joins the session with the steam deck.
So just to clarify, without modding, you only need one copy, and you can invite another friend to play, and both devices can do two player, so you end up playing a real 4-player version of the game with only a single copy?

Just two per copy with split screen. You need more copies of the game to play 3 and 4 player.
