Farming Blazing Berries (And Mushrooms)
So I'm trying to farm Blazing Berries as efficiently as I can right now, since I need them both for health and light potions.
But i'm struggling just a little bit to get them to grow past buds.

My main question is how far out do I have to space them? Cause it seems they dont want to grow too close together.

I don't know the answer, but I always do a test and plant two plants 1 space apart, two of them 2 spaces apart, two of them 3 spaces apart, etc and see which ones grow all the way up.

You're probably already doing this, but if not you can use the Hoe tool you can make the ground fertile which is supposed to make things grow 3x faster.

Okay, so update. Trees, at least Blaze Berry ones, need to be every third slot. took me awhile but I finally got a proper farm going. By the time I gathered and set everything up though, harvesting from other worlds and etc, I ended up with plenty of berries and seeds. So now that my far is all set up, I don't need it anymore! lol. Well sort of, I'll probably need more in the future depending on how long my play streak goes.

On to my new issue though. about 90% of the trees grew full, but like 5 were only mid sized and 1 was still a budling (first phase after the seedling phase)
I guess there's some level of RNG or something and some get stunted or just a lot of bad "rolls" for growing?

Now I'm working on my mushroom farm and some shot up right away but others after several hours still won't grow full. I can clearly plant mushrooms right next to each other, so I wonder what the mechanics are behind how they grow.
I also assume you maybe want to plant mushrooms out of direct sunlight perhaps? But the majority of them grew just fine so I don't Think I need to redo it?

I do wish that you could create some sort of Planting Plot that allows you to grow plants outside of their biome, hopping between areas is mildly annoying but it is what it is.
Thank goodness for the Vacant Zones, they make this all quite a bit easier.

Watch for shadows too, an area that is shadowed by something part of the time will grow slower. That can include shadows from hills or trees, or from each other.

A planting plot would be awesome.

So those last few did grow in.

But now I need to see how the mushrooms grow. if some grow full and some grow half and that's it or I just need to be patient with some more than others.
I really don't like how unevenly they grow though.

also it's funny that the first stage of growth is smaller than the seeds,

Ya, my farmland is a platform stretched out from the house and there's no shade on any of it, although I'm currently growing mushrooms for light potions and i saw somewhere that they might want shade? I dunno, they seem to be growing fine, just not evenly.
