i accidentally punched him thinking id be able to set him back down but now hes fully gone will i have to make a new world or is there a way i can get him back?

Ya... losing quest items is more common than it should be in this game... it's way too easy.

Option 1 is to regenerate the world in the world settings. BUT don't do this unless you're sure you won't loose anything. Regenerating the world re-builds all of the islands and resets all of the quests except for the stuff on your "home island" and the islands you can purchase.

Option 2 is to create a new world and just rush through the islands to get the quest item and bring it back to the first world.

Year i have nearly the same with the Main Mission on the "find the Leader of the Cultists" but at me is the mission bugged i give him his Hat but the mission still excist .... only thing i think is i have to start a new world but this rushing brings me nothing cause i have to play in the new World so i have to do ALL STUFF COMPLETE again i was lvl 17 with my Archer ;( Game really good but the bugs are gamebreaking

You can keep the same character when regenerating the world, or starting a new one.
