It is in a LEAGUE of It's own, Now
but they should hand It over to a company that knows what they are doing, because they are working on a new Title, and This (1), has many direct forms of solitude to experience
It's okay that they make new titles but PK had so much potential to continue adding new items and things.
What people tend to forget it that they don't know how big or small a studio is, i have spoken through email with one of the devs so i knew this news a bit sooner than others but besides that, i think KEEN GAMES isn't that big of a studio so they need all the resources they can get from their designers for their new project and that takes time to make, games take on average a few years to make from scratch so when you hire a studio with it's people you need all the help you can get from them.
This is basicly what happened on atleast this game afaik.
That this might happen to other games, sure it can happen but think about if it's from a big studio or a small one, if there are new investors or none...are the ongoing investments still in place etc etc.
If you bring money to the table, you do have say in what you want to see as the result... their new investors are Tencent and some other companies.
They all look through different glasses than we do, so what someone else said about literally take the money and run basicly counts for all games or atleast most of them.
Or otherwise you're playing a paid MMO which you pay for every month but atleast the game gets updated.
Don't forget that the studio might be smaller than expected and that they apparently can't split up the people to maintain this game and work on new title(s).
oh great you love this game too.
Yes their new project is funded by Tencent and others for their new title they working on, i was aware of this news before they made it public.
Understandable that they like to work on new titles and they should, but PK could have so much more content, so i hope in the future for a sequel of some sort.
You cannot support a game forever past launch. That's not abandoned, that's finished.
+1
Been thinking about getting this for my son and I, so we can have a game to play together. I have already played this in the past and thought he would love it from my experience. Is the game finished now?
As in, will we have a fun time still as I remember from before. Or is a mess? It's been a long while since I played.
It was cheaper for me to buy, since I already had the base game, but concerned on dropping money on a brand new copy if it's finished but left without support in the case of bugs and broken mechanics.
Thank you!
I can't decide for you if you will have a fun time or not, perhaps do some research on Youtube and look at videos.
If you stay within the 2 hour play time limit you can refund the game so that should be an indicator if you have fun or not.
Time flies when you have fun so if that's the case you'll be playing longer than the 2hour refund limit.
I can say that you will have fun but again...i can't and will not decide for you.
On the other hand if it's a mess you'll soon find out aswell.
I hope this helps and please make your own decision what's fun and not, we are totally different people with different things we find fun.
Please keep that in mind and i hope in the end you can make a well thought decision.
Tell that to Minecraft and Terraria
It's sad that they don't think about adding more stuff to the game. PK is the kind of game that you can keep adding content without having a limit.
