There are no other versions and this game can be played completely in SP mode or if you want some friends around you can try ofcourse MP, but it's not mandatory to play this game or even complete everything.
I play this game also solo as for now.
The DLC Elves, Rogues, and Rifts, enemy levels and numbers go up as you progress through the Rifts and do not change with the number of players in the rift. But, If you add another player to help in the Rifts, the time you can spent in the Rift is cut in half. This can make Rifts harder if you go into it with another player that has not been in the rifts before. Note: Time is cut in half with 2 players but if you add a 3d or 4th player, time in the Rift still remains at 1/2 of the time you would have as a single player. Rift Crystals (found in chests or mined) and Soles dropped by the normal enemies are given to each player, ex - you receive 10 Rift Crystals, all players in you party also get 10 crystals. You can pool your crystals and soles with other players to craft things at the Rift Forge. (Note, you can not take any Rift Crystals or Soles out of the Rift, so you can not save them for later, you must spend them before you leave or they are converted to normal game gold coins).
The DLC Druids Furfolk and Relic Defense, enemy levels and numbers go up as you progress through the Defense of the Star Stones and do not change with the number of players in the game. There are no time or increased number of enemies penalties for having more players. Coins and scrap dropped by the normal enemies are given to each player, ex - you defeat an enemy and get 5 coins, all players in you party also get 5 coins (note, you can not pool Defense Coins with other players to buy items). Boss drops are only received by the player closest to the Boss at the time of defeat. (Note, you can take Blue Defense Coins out of the battle field, so you can save them for later, you can not take any scrap or traps you made at the battle forge away from the battle field. When you leave they are converted to normal game gold coins).
Do you mean EG instead of ex? i've never saw the abbreviation of ex unless someone speaks of a former someone that they dated.
EG stands for exempli gratia, or in other words "For Example"... just curious since you're the first one who says EX as given an example?
It's more challenging to solo them but not impossible.
Ofc they use the coop thing in the video but that was already from day one, every game i see has some multiplayer aspect in it because it brings out joy and happiness.
