How to get 3 stars?

I did the first German mission, the challange said to win the battle with limited ammo supply. So I took it to mean I should not use the supply truck. So I didn't, one or two of my tanks even ran out of ammo during the mission.

When I finished the mission I had 6 soldier casualties, and that was all. Did not lose anything else. Still I got only 2 stars. What should I have done to earn 3 stars?

You need to destroy as many enemies as possible and get as many icons as possible.

Ok, fair enough. And you have to do what the challenge says right? What does the challenge mean that says something like: Play the mission with most enemy tanks having elite crew. How do you do that?

You should first beat mission and get 3 stars. Then opens a challenge mode for this mission and you should play it again. You will have no supply trucks / Enemy units will have elite crew automatically.

Oh! Ok thanks for the info! One last thing, I take it you should try avoid losing units while trying to kill as many enemies as possible right?

It seems the game does not take into account your losses. I have the same concern as you about 1st German mission. I avoided unncecessary battles, took all objectives with minimal losses and did not get 3 stars. But in further missions in defending phases I destroyed a lot of enemies with moderate losses and get 3 stars, so I think you should annihilate all the map for the best result.

I just loaded and started a blitzkrieg through the map and easily got 3 stars, not worrying too much if I lose some units. So still not sure how heavily unit lost weighs on stars, but it definitely works killing more enemies!

On the German Stalingrad Mission, I lost only 1 infantry unit and got only 2 Stars. Important for 3 Stars is to farm icons (shoot tank from behind, farm ricochets and so on)

I got 3 stars on Dunkirk.

- Use infantry only
- Blow up tanks with AT grenades
- Take over everything you find
- Place mines where you know tanks will show up between the lines
