Бери Sudden Strike 4.
I would go for SS4. Because of old SS games and editor.

Tryed Steel Division and its dumbdown from wargame.
Game offers lotsa options but unfortunatly gameplay is a big stall... that turns to arty fest and bombing runs.
Major downside for me in SD:N44 is way to big zoomout and ranges... game looks fantastic but player dont see that :) units could easy be black triangles and you wouldnt know.

They're different games dude. Pick what you like:

SS4 = Watered down, arcady RTS with less units and unrealistic damage system and line of sight. Combat happens at knife-point.

SD44 = Tactical/strategic RTS with much more depth, although you're controlling a battle from much higher, so none of the in-your-face combat unless you want to constantly zoom in. Combat happens at realistic ranges, so it's often at great distances.

Don't be fooled SD44 is not the ultimate ww2 simulation either it is a Real time tactik with emphasis about units/formations manoeuver and positioning so pacing is probably not so fast as SS4. Morever Eugen system chose to tuned down authenticity a bit for balance matter. Some choice are questionable, ranges... ap value, armour for ex, jumbo and kingtiger only separed by 2 points (no real value), other cons: maps advantage infantry combats/artillery over tanks (that's normandy for you) so not enough map diversity for all gameplay style imo, high caliber artillery do not arm tanks, planes do but with difficulty . The pros are like vdd said bigger scope and zoom , frontline system, stress system which encourage you to push the units you pinned down to capture them, lots of units (400) ish you can kill everything with ap if you close by, good sound/ambiance in general , polished graphism however in mp you will not often have time to rave about your nice looking units, you will have to like the units labels...

SS4 could be a new, relaxing expierience for all RTS veterans. By any means not a perfect game, but I quite like the direction it's heading, for example not focusing on Tanks and infantry only, but also implementing SPGs, aircraft, and even some hardcore artillery like the Long Tom 155mm.
Ok so these are the fact no one seems to realize, Sudden Strike 4 and Steel Division: Normandy 44 are compleatly diffrent game. Both are WW2 RTS games, now on to what each game is. Before i go any further, I would like to add that I owen both. SS4 is more arcade style and fast paced while SD N44 is more tactical in much larger in scope... It's not a question of which game you should get, The question is What style of RTS do you like. Thats what it boils down to... Also don't listen to the nay sayers as Steel Division is a fantastic game. You will spend MANY hours playing and and figuring it out.

I don't think people here are realistically comparing them that closely. They're looking for WWII themed games and likely aren't sure which one is more realistic and tactical (SD44) or watered down and arcady (SS4).
