Why are Leo and Efi covered in the loveberries at the end of the first game?

They're covered in loveberries like their previous pictures, or blood or something. I was confused by it and I ran through really fast from my last save to find these. Was wondering what they're covered in and why.

maybe after the fight with rachel efina faint and leo piggyback her, since leo was already covered by it when his brother ran away it got stick to her to, haha just some speculation

I think it's actually blood... since neither Leo or Efina corrected Keith when he asked about it.

So they probably got beat up really badly from the fight, considering that it was technically their very first time fighting someone covered in lies. (Though jesus christ they could've at least taken the time to dress their wounds.)

Either that or Keith was carrying a bunch of loveberries on his person and it splattered on them while they were pummeling him during that boss fight.

Keith threw a loveberry at em when he said he was a vampire, and ran off. Carol states that you can throw loveberries at people to daze them

The thing is though, is that Leo already wiped off the loveberry from himself (using a piece of Efi's clothing). After that, their sprites looked completely clean until they got out of the fight with Keith. So unless Keith had a lot more loveberries with him during the boss fight and it just got all over them during the scuffle, it's questionable...
