Question about crafting
So I have a char who can max crafting and blacksmithing, I have two belts each gives a plus one in each stat , so I just switch when needed.

The thing is I have made a sword and axe, that two of my chars are 1 stat short in strength in using them. They both have amulet the gives them plus 1 strength, so I can not make that.

So looked up, and on wiki it says.

For a belt to add +1 strength. claw[magic]+rope will give you +1 strength.
or clawsharp[magic]+rope gives you +1 strength, and added sight I think.

I have rope and 3 crab claws. But that does not work. Is the another type of claw I am sopposed to find? FOr it to work.

Save the Game and you try It . If It does wrong you can load the old Game save .
Be carefull the talent points cant return to use .

Yes, there are other claws available, one is a chicken claw which increases Initiative and the other is some kind of generic "claw" (looks more like a talon) that increases Strength. The Enchanter merchant in Cyseal's market square often has one for sale - very cheap too.

Have you found a use for Crab Claws? I've got a bunch left over from the Black Cove that I'm carrying around and have no idea what to do with them.

Ty for answering, yes I am careful, with my talents, I have armor, I change out for some things, like one char has a lot of lucky equipment, that I switch when I remember, when looting. Two belts for my crafting char, one +1 on blacksmith, one +1 crafting. So I do not have to give him anymore points in either of those I just switch.

As far as claw goes, tried chicken claw, did not work. Said sharp claw on wiki, so tried using stone to sharp crab claw. Did not work.

The thing is it says magic on wiki. If I hit magic items when crafting, it brings up scrolls. So maybe I need some sort of claw spell? I have not seen anything like that.

Ok I think I figured it out. was looking at magic, in order to make a magic claw, you need to have pixie dust, and that to claw, and you get magic claw.

I do not think I have pixie dust though, the moment I find some I will let you know.

Pixie Dust is obtained by grinding Stardust Herb in a mortar and pestle and combining the resulting Stardust with Bone Dust. All it takes to succeed is Crafting level 2. You get Bone Dust (of course) from grinding up bones.

There is quite a bit of Stardust Herb growing wild outside Cyseal but you can also occasionally find it for sale on the two 'magic' merchants in town; the one in the market square and the one upstairs in the Legion building across from Lt Selenia.

In a pinch, you can also create Pixie Dust by grinding up a Moonstone and combining Moon Dust with Star Dust. I don't recommend that method as Moonstones are far too valuable on their own to increase the power of staffs.

Weaver of Time always has a stack of four Pixie Dust in her inventory. Easy sourcing for early game.

Leather Helmet + Crab Claw = some specific helmet buff. I don't remember ever actually crafting it, so it's probably crap though.

Ok getting closer did learn to make pixie dust, but did not work with crab claws, did make a magical chicken foot, and a magical lucky rabbits foot though.

But the claw thing I do not get. There must be another type of claw somewhere. That is what I need to give me my +1 strength.

Both "Crab Claw" and "Claw/Sharp Claw" exist. With Crab Claw you can only craft the aforementioned helmet, nothing else.

As I said in my first response, there is another claw simply labeled "claw" which is small, brown colored and most resembles a bird's talon. It's random loot and can also be occasionally purchased from the two merchants in Cyseal who specialize in crafting components. That's the one which when made into amulets or belts increases Strength by 1 point.

Don't stress over it though. As you advance in levels you're going to acquire better gear to wear in those slots, some of which will also have +1 Strength.

Ah, thanks. I'll check that out.

Just tried it. My companion has Crafting Level 6 (with gear)

Old Leather Helmet + Crab Claw = Claw Helm (+21 HP)

Yep. Not worth the trouble.

Curious what do they sell for?

I know I have turned butter knives into really good daggers, made a bit of easy money that way.

It wasn't notably valuable, but I didn't pay much attention since I sold it along with a lot of other junk that I had recently collected.

Ha I did same thing made them just to get rid off them, sold them with other stuff, forgot to check price. But to buy them back they wanted like 300. My barter is not great, but I am sure I got more money that way, then selling each on there own.

Paid for a few more arrows, and arrowheads.

The weapons generally have the highest stat requirements of any weapons - handy tip: every time you see a tormented soul, buy it. They're pricey but add +1/2/3 of both str and dex to weapons (the 1,2, or3 is depending on your level). Dual wielders essentially get 4 dex and 4 str from this. They're just not super common so always buy them even if you're broke or have no need for them at that time.
