I'm more like : if you respec your Lone Wolf, you get all your Ability Points back, cool. But if you don't take Lone Wolf again, you can be pretty OP because you keep all these points.
Then I hear you say : "yes, but you managed to get this far in the game with 1 party member less".
I hear that, but the problem is that after the respec, if I don't take back the Lone Wolf talent, I'll be able to recruit a 4th party member. Problem : my character still has SOME of the advantages of a Lone Wolf (aka these additional Ability Points), so he still count almost as 2 players in 1 (almost, because you still lose the bonus health and AP / turn).
So I can bring my character as a Lone Wolf to, say, level 15 to get enough extra Ability Points to master an Ability, then respec out of Lone Wolf and go back to hire a companion (let's say a unique one, so that they immediately level up to my level), and boom, 4 man party with one being OP because I have more Ability Points than I should...
It might be too late to change it in the game, but I hope the devs will see my recommandation here about this issue for the next game (or that someone will be able to create a mod inspired by it ?) : why not make Lone Wolf a permanent talent ? I mean, you can still take it later in the game if you'd like, but at the moment you take it, it's taken forever, meaning you can't respec out of it. So if you respec a Lone Wolf character, you get everything back EXCEPT your Lone Wolf talent.
I think that would solve the question of "Lone Wolf should be retroactive - no, it shouldn't", and the problem I mentioned, namely if you respec a character out of Lone Wolf, he will keep a huge advantage over other party members (more Ability Points), while not lowering your party overall strength.
If you managed to stay with me this far, you are a champion ! Here's your reward, a wonderful smiley -> :D
