Rogue scoutrel: Eye Gouge or Cloak and Dagger ?
Hi,

I have a hard time choosing between the Eye Gouge ability, and cloack and dagger ability for my rogue, since the number of ability is limited, and I alwready learner become air, razor edge (the stun) and precise incision that seem to be must have.

Eye gouge seemed meh on paper, but when you think of it it has good tactic potential : you can completly shut down an annoying archer or mage with it, and then sneak with your close rogue to become safe.
The target becomes then useless, especially if this is a boss that your rogue can defeat easily in a couple of turns.

I havent test cloak and dagger, and I can see any use for it except to get away from danger.

But I could also forget precise incision instead.
The damage is nice, but the weaken effect does not seem that good in the end...
Ony -50 damage, and I don't know how the strengh -2 can really be beneficial for me.

What is your opinion ?
I am asking the question because I don't want to rebuy the books multiple times, they are expensive.

The air elemental sells cloack and daggers, but I can't find the gouge eye books anywhere, do you know where I can find it ?

Thx

I tested blind before the last patch, it is currently broke, as in it does absolutely nothing, and I didn't see any mention of it in the patch notes. So easy choice for you till it gets fixed.

I had a similar query when I planned to respec Wolgraf. Choosing 4 out of 5 skills in adept, I planned on Daggers Drawn, Become Air and Precise Incision. I couldn't decided between the last two but ultimately decided to go with Eye Gouge because I had never used Cloak and Dagger during the game (although I know there will be some time where I will regret this!).

Two things to note on Eye Gouge:
1) As per Blinkicide's comment, it doesn't appear Blind currently works; so no urgency to get Eye Gouge.
2) There is another discussion asking whether the Eye Gouge skillbook exists and I know I had difficulty finding one; so if you forget this skill it might take some time (or luck) to get it back.

I've think a bit more of that matter.

And in fact I think you can forget precise incision in favoir of gouge eyes.
-50 damage and strengh -2 is not bad, but most of the time my warrior is dealing with the physical ennemies, and she does not even need them to be weakened for that, and they are still active even if they are weakened.

On the other hand, blind on a far mage or archer can be very very usefull.
But I did not have the occasion to test it, since I got rid of gouge eye skill, thinking I could buy it again later if i really needed to ><

Hmm.

All I can say is that Cloak and Dagger is probably my most used spell overall. I use it all the time in "exploration" mode.

And Eye Gouge, I've never liked it. It does meh damage and the blind effect seems underwhelming, to say the least.

I would personnaly not drop Cloack and Dagger for anything.

ok thx.

But Eye Gouge seems better than precise incision no ( if the blind effect works) ?

Probably - if you can effectively stop an enemy for a round or two (stun, knocked down, frozen, etc.) I think it's more powerful than additional damage with a special ability (e.g. bleeding, burning, etc.).
