You didn't give your specifics so... I don't know, I guess I can describe how it went for me.
***
It was very straight forward.
Walked the group straight in, in the middle - the dumb way.
Circled him right away with pets (Nick, one UD pet from witchcraft and a wolf from geomancer, which didn't do much if anything), Madora and the rogue, so that he gets the flank debuff
2 casters (pyro/geo & hydro/aero) a bit in the back. They stayed where they were when the fight began, basically.
And smashed him. Physical dps from the pets, rogue and Madora. Casters were there for support : casting pets -> buff (blessed/ignition/constituion buff, etc) -> heal ->defreeze if need be, and toying a little bit with the shards when they appeared (if I remember correctly, these things really don't like fire).
Rest of the group just ignored everything. My characters resisted most of the freezing attempts from the shards stuff, thanks to decent bodybuilding / willpower (~3/3), and bonus from leadership level 6. They just kept smashing Boreas.
And he died, just after changing the surface from frost to fire.

Also, a very useful craft for both the area and the boss, if you didn't do it, is : any boots + nine inch nails. If you didn't know that one, you'll love it :)
Not sure if that's helpful, hopefully a little bit!
And remember: tornado is your friend.
Have fun.
