the golden grail essentaill updats the value of the iteme ( armor, vest etc.) you merge it with by raisin it's worth in gold coins when you sell it. This is done so you will make coins very easely by finding ( or even buying ) new stuff for realtively cheap, increrase the value with golden grail than resel for profit. It's a really powerfoul item actually. The in game fluff explaination is that it's a magic alchemic item that turns normal tissue and metals into gold fabric or ore. So if you have a pair of cotton shirts for example you made them in two golden fabric shirts for example, wich are way more valuable than the previous, etc.

The sole purpose of the golden grail is to increase the value of armor pieces, and nothing else.
(supposedly it also changes the color to gold or something, although that has never really seemed to work for me)

Interesting however the fabric shirts never become gold colored nor the name changes to "gold fabric shirt"

But thanks for this explanation.

I never saw much of an increase in the amount. I combined an armor with it that was worth 68 gold and the end price was 72 gold. Just wasn't worth it to me.

yeah but then again 4 extra gold is a gain :P

I tried it on a thing worth 203 gold and it went up a whole 5 gold! wow. For comparison, in vanilla, using it on something worth 90 gold could up it to 113, and something worth 386 gold to 436 or something.

It seems to have been nerfed into uselessness.

on D:OS- EE i got it to work by clicking on it and combining it with an armor. The same way you craft an arrow or somthing. It acually made it gold. Well. Robes become gold colored. Plate armor just gets gold accents. Same with boots. Some items its hard to notice a change. It also makes the worth go up 5 gold or so. This is the only time its done a visible change. It the original it just did +5 gold.

In the original D:OS it did those same visual changes (and added a lot more than 5 gold to the value).

The visual changes are item-dependent since they have different "dye maps". This isn't specific to the grail; it applies to any dye you use to color an item.
Vardis Nov 5, 2015 @ 9:30am
And the visual changes are not to the icon of the item, but the item itself as it looks on your character. It should be very obvious if you take a close look.

OH!

That I did not know and now that I tried it I do know.... thanks Vardis

The grail seems useless now since it doesn't provide more than a couple extra pieces of gold. Why even bother giving it to everyone if it doesn't serve any useful function?
