Endgame One Last Nightmare
Like many, I have a love hate relationship with this game but I'm almost done. I've been wandering aimlessly through the dreamworld King Crab Inn (quest name: One Last Nightmare) All the writing and signage is backwards and there's not much to go on. I'm simply trying to get through what should be the last locked door (Ominous Door) before the final boss battle.

A scene of Astarte dead on stone slab with mourners around her is outside to my right and down a long hallway is a locked door that leads out to a large courtyard which is where I believe the endgame battle will take place. How do I bypass the Suonimo Rood (Ominous Door)?

The final hour of this game sadly ruined any previous enjoyment. I genuinely hope they make DOS 2 less ambiguous. Thre's a fine line between challenging and annoying and this game certainly has a lot of both.

I'm looking for spoilers. Please put me out of my misery. Cheers.

If things are written backwards, grab a paper and pencil and write them out the correct way.

So were you just being a ♥♥♥♥ then?

Your suggestion had zero bearing on the solution and I had clearly posted the correct spelling in my original post. I thought you might just be one of those clowns that insists on answering a direct question with a strong hint even though I had said I was looking for the spoiler and was tired of ambiguity.

Do yourself a favour Sparkles and steer clear of my posts.

If you've paid attention to the story and the lore, then it's obvious what you have to do.

It's even explicitly stated by a NPC.

Lol, easy there little lady or I'll put you over my knee and spank you. So you were being a ♥♥♥♥. I had completed 98% of the game by that point so my ability to read and problem solve aren't in question. I was tripped up on one portion out of 100. Yeah, all the puzzles make perfect sense once you've completed them.

Tell us all again how writing once backwards words on paper with a pencil helps solve that puzzle? Fascinating insight you insignificant gnat.

Just found this thread, thanks for the tip. I also want to chime in that I agree, boink is a douche.

The entire thread wouldn't exist in the Original forum as the entire "new bull$#!t end" didn't exist in the Original...

Larian #1: "well, we suck @$$ at writing stories and annoying traps and puzzles but we are great at combat!"

Larian #2: "well, why don't we, you know, for the EE, take out 10% of the combat and mobs and replace THAT with more of our $#!t writing/traps/ and puzzles?"

Larian #1: "omg, brilliant mate! spot on brilliant!"

My first thought upon seeing the people around her body was: "I wonder what they will do if I ctl-click to attack the corpse?"

Seemed like a logical thing to do and got me the key in all of 5 seconds after I got there.

Ooh the first time through I just burned a Magical Unlock Scroll on that door! I had to come here for my second playthrough though because my warrior attacked Her and nothing happened until I read this and switched to a fire weapon

I kept attacking with my archer, nothing happened. I used a fire spell after reading this post. Thanks.

TLDR: USE A FIRE SPELL ON ASTARTE'S CORPSE!

F*** THAT! I wasted 2 hours on that crap. The very first thing I did was trying to ctrl+click the body, that did nothing (y'know, tenebrium weps and all). Tried to fire arrows, nothing. Tried firing FIRE F***** ARROWS, that does nothing. Tried casting a damned Infectious Flame, that didn't target the body. Tried using the candles on the corpse, and tried even Midnight Oiling the crap out of it and setting fire, which did nothing as well. After coming here and reading the last post (TLDR one), I used a Flare scroll and it worked. Honestly, total and utter ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, since burning lots of stuff through the game could have been done in any of the previous ways I've attempted, except here. Screw me if I'm not running a fire mage, right?
