Balancing Pressure Plates
In the Immaculate trial while afflicted with rot.

Been working on this for an hour and a half. I have 3 out of 4. Read a solution elsewhere that says the 4th involves stacking the 3 books found in the dungeon. Done, in every order, the weight only adds up to 50%. So I played around with inventory items, checking individual item weights on the plate and found several solutions that = 100% ...off the plate. Only, when I make the stacks on the plate each solution = 101% every single time, leading me to believe it must be very specific items required. I've tried everything in the room, doesn't play out. And yes, I tried stacking the books from the room in various orders, nothing.

Solution for the fourth plate?

Worked fine for the three books found in the NE corner for me.

Used the pumpkin, bucket of water, heavy barrel and a vase i think.

You can just get 90%-ish with heavier stuff/items and such, then do the rest with lighter things (crafting items) from your inventory. You can return for them later.
You can order your inventory by weight, which helps a lot. Also you can split stacks of items with shift+drag, I believe.

I noticed something in the original, don't know if it still applies to EE but when you place the correct item on to a plate, it displays 'Click' instead of just sounding a click.

I was in the same predicament as well, 3 down 1 to go. I just swapped items from my inventory, starting with the items I picked up in that section of the trial, on to the plate until something 'clicked'.

It does the 'click' in EE. I figured it out, just asking seems to initiate an elevated "solve it" response for me. ;) I missed a room, hidden doorway with all that shadow, bucket of water in the middle of the floor of that room (like a little clue) solves it. Didn't find a pumpkin in the dungeon. So yeah, smaller vase, heavy barrel, candle, and that bucket of water.

Thx guys. This game is clearly a work of love by its creators, I'm fully addicted.

Just my opinion, but I don't care for this trial and error puzzle solving. Somewhere in this dungeon should have been some clues as to what should have been done or what should have been used. I finally solved it but didn't use ANY of the items mentioned above. The floating percentages confused me for a bit till I realized what they were. As with the switch puzzle in the next area, trial and error without any info is to me, just lazy programming.

I don't remember offhand whether the balance puzzle has a hint, but the lever puzzle definitely does have a giveaway in the same room.

There is a book on the floor that is hard to see near the entrance to the secret room that you can use by itself. Go into "b" mode and hold Alt to find it easy. It is the fourth item needed.
