Merchants in king crab tavern have no stock.
This may have changed in EE, but i'm sure there used to be two fabulous five merchants in the king crab inn. One selling armor and the other selling weapons.

They are still there, but they don't seem to have any inventory to sell, except like a cup of juice or something. Weird thing is that they still have the same old dialog lines, mentioning that they will sell you "only the best equipment and gear".

It's been a while since I played D:OS, am I missing something ?
Thanks

If you go in the tavern and walk to the bar area, and then facing the bar front, the two merchants are at the far right end, near some tables and chairs.

They are fabulous five merchants, so if your not seeing them. Then it might be because you've already completed the spark5000 mission. Because these merchants move after that mission I believe.

I think they changed them to match their quest related story. Minor spoiler: After killing Arhu's Machine you reveal that the Fabulous Five are impostors. Would be wierd if they'd sell decent early-game-gear.

I beleive we are talking about the lady downstairs to the right of the bar. I'm thinking that is it, but her narrative talks about "come see what I got" tpye thing and well she's got a lot of not so much at the start.

They changed some merchants around. I also couldn't get legendary items from the guy at the graveyard or the one who gives you that strength test.

Hum, just abit odd that they still have the same bark lines, boasting about selling things, and now they just have nothing lol. :(

Yeah. I suspect they made the changes after the new voice acting was added, and didn't want to go back and redo it, or cut the parts that no longer made sense. Just a guess. Or maybe they just missed it.

It's unfortunate, because thats two less merchants that you have access to. Also there are very few merchants that sell weapons and armor with a chance to spawn enchanted variants. And all merchants appear to have static inventory now, which apparently only changes at level up's. Although I have yet to see any merchants inventory stock ever change at all. So as a whole it makes merchants kinda useless alot of the time.

Kinda makes it hard to get that all important bracers with +1 blacksmithing & +1 crafting for your crafter.

I would craft some bracers but the recipe for bracers seems to have been removed, along with some other recipes that no longer work. I guess larian don't want players getting certain stat buffs from gear or to use merchants too much :(

The more you level, and the more you explore, the more stores with powerful gear you'll gain access to. Also the stores inventory seems to cycle every hour as well as when you level up.

As for the Fab Five, they are liars and cheats. The same store woman you're talking about also offers to run away with you until you sign your name, at which point she blows you off. Why trust her in any way when they are clearly con men?

Nice in-game explanation, but that's not the reason. ;)

Their gear wasn't as good as other vendors on average in the original. With the rebalancing, they were probably just not seen as needed. They have an undead merchant near the town now.

Every hour ? Really, hum maybe i've missed it. I checked the inventory of the main merchants in Cyseal market. I checked them when I first got there, then later today (more than an hour later) I checked again. But they seemed to have have the same stuff, unless maybe just one or two things changed. I'll keep an eye out, as every hour would be fine. Thanks Tallahassee.

Just outside town, on the beach past the guarded gate. The lieutenant outside the building with the quartermaster is also new, of course.

Ultimately the fact that Anna keeps talking about her goods to sell, is effectively a bug. Those lines should have been removed along with her stock.

It is not a bug that she does not have gear.... but her lines certainly are, which makes it misleading.
