Purchased from Charla.
I see it has 4 slots on the left, the one is lighten up so Im guessing it can get upgrade to level 4

You need to find axe upgrade 1, 2, 3 and then combine them with the base to improve the weapon.

Do you know where I can find that upgrade?
Dont want to end up missing them
Krave Nov 2, 2015 @ 7:59am
I missed a bunch on my first playthrough of EE and was only able to upgrade one item to lv 3. It sucks because if you miss part 1, and then find part 2, you can't upgrade.

I'm assuming since there are 4 upgrades and 4 worlds that one piece is found in each world.

do you need to have crafting leveled up to upgrade them?

There are actually only three upgrades. The weapons start out as tier 1 and fully upgraded they're tier 4.

The first set is located in Hibernheim with the exception of one of them which I found in the White Witch's house (Which leads to Hibernheim anyway)
The 2nd set was scattered throughout Luculla so I don't remember their exact locations. I just remember that I found one upgrade component in Maradino's lair and one in the Troll King's dungeon.
Only found one tier 3 component in Phantom Forest so far, it was given to me for free by the skeleton merchant outside Hunter's Edge

Are those weapons actually worth upgrading?
Frede Nov 2, 2015 @ 8:33am
They're decent weapons, but it's quite likely you'll have something better to use instead. Likely depends on the builds you're using.

I'll upgrade them as much as I can (so far) and post the stats.

for me they seem to be good intermediate weapons. Theyre generally slightly better than what I already have but get replaced by new boss loot pretty fast.

I believe it's worthwhile to mention they can't be sharpened at a whetstone which only really reinforces my statement that you'll likely have a better weapon by the time you've fully upgraded these. It's a nice concept, but some of the weapons are lacking imo.

Dont suppose someone could give me a hand on how to craft and make gear?
I have no idea how wheatstones are used or crafting or anything

Thanks for the stats, the axe seems really good.

Whetstone- Increases the attack rating of metal weapons
Anvil- Increases the movement speed of metal armor and block % of shield
Mobile kitchen- Increases the defence rating of leather armor
Just right click on them and combine with an equipment, it has unlimited uses. It also makes the item sell at a better price.

The recipe of other items that you can craft are mostly found in books. But you can craft them even without finding the book. Refer to this:

Thank you so much Alfredtohkf for that information.
But I just found now that it doesnt show if I've sharped a weapon with a Whetstone, or is it just me that cant see if an item has been or not?

The name of weapon remains the same. If you do not see 'invalid combination' then the weapon should be sharpened. The higher your blacksmith level, the bigger the increase. I mentioned metal weapon, bows/crossbows/clubs/staff/wand won't benefit from the whetstone because those are wooden weapons.
