D&D Pact Blade warlock like build?

I play D&D 5e and I really like the pact blade warlock. Can anyone think of a build that would have that kind of playstyle?

If it's anything like a 3.5 warlock, then the best you can do is a wand-weilder. There's no incovations like D&D warlocks have.

My favorite combo is to do melee with a greatsword while a target is hexed but I also like the eldrich blast for when enemies try to run from me.

they are basically magic rogues somewhere between the beguiler, hexblade and glaive-lock
