Dual Wielding 1H Str Weapons Or 2H Weapon?
Which is better ? and Why?

Side Question - Is light stepper worth it if i don't have anyone in my party with perception?

frankly a 2 handed weapon will almost always out damage a 1 handed weapon per swing. but since you get multiple swings with a 1 handed weapon it pretty much makes up the difference.

what you should be thinking of is. what should i be doing dual wielding 2 1 hands or strapping a shield on for greater survivability.

I think 1 h weapon gives you more options in terms of movement and using other skills as 2h use more ap.

And about lightstepper - with it you still need char to have 9 perception to be able to find late game traps.

Two handed weapons have more range. Want to wack that enemy standing in a burning puddle of oil? Much nicer not to have to stand in it to hit them.

Dual wield has the advantage that you get twice as many chances to proc weapon effects.

Dual wield is better. You can mix 2 different weapon for various effect eg. X% of knock down and X% of freezing enemy or 2 crush damage weapon to deal with undead. For the 2H weapon, it mainly depends on what is in their weapon and you can't mix anything else in. The damage from 2H is from crit, but it isn't very reliable unless you add perception. Dual wield does more damage consistently and only need to focus on adding strength.

Dual Wield also costs more skill-points, which is a tradeoff.

In what way would it cost more skill-points when I am comparing a 2H and dual wield of same proficiency? I need buff on Madora to do same amount of damage on a dual wield Roderick. Both uses 4AP to attack and crit rarely happens.

Dual wield needs more skill points and is weaker early but will outperform 2hand if you find the correct items.

My bad, was thinking of wand, where you can put points into dual-wield + wands.

Anyway, your crit chance should be roughly 25+%. So, every other round. Hardly rarely.

As I said before, range is much better on 2-handed weapons. Not everything is about raw weapon DPS, especially in this game. You can attack from further away without crossing potentially dangerous ground. Also, warrior abilities like whirlwind are affected by your weapon range.

Both are good, but to say unconditionally better is to ignore dynamic battlefield conditions.

1h is slightly better for locking enemies, as there is one couple good clubs with knocldown chance. But 2h have bigger range and much higher dmg. Up to you :) and with 1h you can always wield shield to highly increase your survi (50% block + about 20% evade on 3rd-4th map is op)

2 handed means heavier and more frequent criticals, with combination of bully trait, power stance and oath of desecration you will be able to do massive damage. And crit chance around 30-35% isnt bad at all.
It is necessary to max out 2 handed skill though, same goes for crossbows. Old bonuses from original game were pretty bad.

Its survi vs dmg. I prefer having 1 char who can withstand all of enemy attacks for couple of turns and kill enemies with other 3 characters.

Thank you guys for responding, from what i read both look pretty good.
I think i will go with Dual wielding because it looks cooler :)
