Elemental Tortoise
Ok, so dumb question but do you actually NEED to have a shield equiped in order for this skill to work? I'm trying to get my fire resist up past 100% so fire heals me. I just took Demon in the Talents section and I can only get it to 60ish%
I'm running a duel wielder LW + a wiz LW. If I can't use Elemental Tortoise is there another way to make this work?

Elemental resists are capped at 80%. Demon raises the cap to 90%. You can only go higher with temporary effects like potions and spells that last a couple turns. Going over 100% was patched out of the regular version of the game a long time ago.

Elemental resistances are capped at 80% (90% if you get demon or ice king). In non-enhanced you were able to cast shield to push the resistance above 100%, wich made those shield quite broken. Now they changed that.

If elemental tortoise stacks with the max resistance, than you should be able to easily go over 100%, but so far I don't know, if it does. Haven't played that far yet. Or you can go with avatar of fire, wich gives additional 25% resistance if those stack with the max.

It's still capped at 80? The patch notes said it went up to 100.

Could be, never read the patch notes to not spoil the surprises. :)

But they also made it harder to get high resistances even with man-at-arms, so can't tell how easily 100% are achievable in late game.

Hmmm, I don't know whether to go with demon now or not? I just lvled up and am about to fight Diederick on Tactitian. Hmmmm.......my whole plan was to get 100+% along with Leech for self heals but if demon isn't going to help me get my goal I may need to rethink my entire build.

If the new cap is 100%, you could get 110% with demon from item and so. Skills should increase the resistance even further, but can't tell for sure atm. only leve 7 now ^^

I'll have to keep an eye out for Elemental Tortoise and see if I need a shield for it. I think right now I'm going to hold off on Demon. Might go for leech or something else.

Regarding the Wiki, it requires a shield.

Ah, thanks for pointing that out for me. I didn't bother looking at the right side of the screen as I thought it was nothing but advertisements lol.

just found the skillbook, still requires shield and its 40% for all except earth which just says 40, probably a bug.

Nope.

I have a fire mage with 96% base resist (for using explode).


What has changed is that having >100% (via chilled) no longer heals you. Annoying, I was trying to use frozen / heat etc to make a char who could port into the middle of combat and AoE.



Hint: Hiberia map, north, there's a reason that the wolf master has an anti-fire Aura. It was too easy otherwise ;)

Yeah, I was just trying to get away with not having to spend AP on casting a spell.
