ALL Chests, empty! Barrels, baskets, cratyes, everything?!?!

Ive looted everything, and MAYBE 1/25 have a small item in them.. Occassionally.. Fine, i wouldnt expect rarities, or useful stuff everywhere.. But whats bothering me, is the treasure chests/chests.. Even ones i have to go on about locating the key for.. Whats the point of them, if theyre all empty?! I havent found ONE single chest, anywhere in Cyseal, that had ANYTHING inside..!! What gives?

When i say "nothing", i dont mean that im just not finding anything i like.. Its literally empty.. Not a craftying item, gear, food.. NOTHING!!!

Yeah... it is annoying. I got to several chests that I had to maneuver through traps and find keys only to have them empty in the end. Takes the excitment out of the game. As selfish as it sounds, simple rewards keep me motivated.

Seems abit like as like fun has been offered in the name of ballance. Personally, I think this is the wrong way to go. I addition, it lowers replaybility value.

there is a bug where items in objects are not shown, maybe you suffer this one

Does the EE version still change chest rewards by quicksaving before opening, then using quickload to randomly get a different/better item, like the original game did???
I used to quicksave before opening, then quick load as many times as it took to get a better item(s) in the boss chests...or chests i knew carried good items from previous playthru...!

wELL, NOW IM SURE ITS A BUG.. tHERE ARE 4 HIDDEN "oRNATE cHESTS" THROUGHT rIVELLON.. 1 IN EACH REALM.. tHE ONE IN cYSEAL, I JUST WENT TOO, AFTER SPEAKING WITH THE SISTER AT tHE eND OF tIME, AND IT TOO IS EMPTY.. NO NOTE, NOTHING!

I haven't played yet but the info on the forums says they removed that ability. I have read that you can get one set of items the first time and if you reload there is a different set but after that it stays fixed to what the second set was. Also read the second set was garbage items but not sure if the poster just meant they weren't useful to them or if they were actually always worse than the first time you opened the container.

as far as i know you can pick up the items with pick all, they are just not shown

They are all indeed listed as "empty" when hovering over them.. i use the mouse click on the "X" at the bottom, so im not using the "loot all" function.. Meaning there never was any loot in them..

I know they made looting "balanced", but some of these are quest chests.. Like the Duke of Ferol, and Esmerelda.. I got the key from her house, for the locked chest in the Inn murder scene.. Empty.. No poem, no smelly underpants, nothing.. And as i said in the post above.. The 4 secret chests, hidden all over rivellon.. The one in Cyseal was empty! Im actually missing quest items now, not just loot..

Did you try the get all option afterwards?

Did you try to make a new game or did you try to check your files for corruption?

What you are talking about seems more to be a bug, not a game feature.

you can still reroll chests and boss loot, you just have to save before you get to the boss area/chest area, same with vendors.

The boxes dont have the get all option.. When theres loot (visible, or no) theres another icon that appears atop the box.. Theres a X icon at the bottom of the box regardless of loot or not.. If you hit spacebar, it also loots all, and closes the box.. However, if the box is empty, the spacebar does nothing.. Almost as if it only works, if the loot all button is ontop the box..

This is my 4th new game, and either way, thas not an option anyone would be willing to take.. What would it prove? As theres no way to know which boxes are just empty, or bugged, short of the few quest chests.. This would require a large time investment on my part, to check for possible bugs..

I was pretty clear that i was filing this as a bug.. Unfortunately, im not allowed to create a topic in the Larian forums, as my account is too new..

Update: I found the note from the treasure chest sisters in my inventory after closing the game, and loading my most recent save.. Though, still not the poem from the Duke of Ferol, or the Smelly Underpants...This would be one of the clues to accuse Esmeralda as Jakes murderer..

That isnt the point..The issue isnt unhappiness with contents of chests.. The issue appears to be a bug, thats not placing loot that is necessary to the game progress, or quest items.. Be they the reported "invisible bug", or nt there at all...
