i think there's a trap door to the left under those boxes or on the right wall there's a switch (been awhile since i played) and i havn't got that far in the new version so i could be wrong

Yea i know that, i am past the skeleton captain and giant crab spider thing. Still nothing.

Yeah, there's a hidden switch on the right hand wall of the rounded 'L' part of the room which opens the game.

You speculating or you know for sure? Last i checked switch moves painting to open door that leads to the pirate hide out.

just figured out you can teleport someone behind the gate.

Yup. Don't forget you can use your teleport pyramids. That's how you solve the puzzle :) .

I'll have to double check when I get home, but I'm pretty sure if you have the Pet Pal talent you can talk to the rat in the room and it'll grab the key for you. I didn't need to use the teleporters on my most recent play through and that's the only thing I could think might have worked for me. I'm notorious for skipping through the chat dialogue now so I can't remember exactly what the rat in the room says.

So, if you have already found the trap door, but havent gone down it, DONT!
what you do is move the candle to the left of the door, once you do that, it will allow you to throw your pyramid through! Go through the rest of the zone (you'll find out why) then go back and go down the hatch. (you get more experience this way too I believe)
