Cleric stats advice please
I've never chosen a cleric class in any rpg before, so I was wondering where should I focus my stat point on?

Thank you in advance!

There is nothing like "standard cleric" thing. For start i would suggest you get Hydro on at last lvl 1 for Regeneration skill, Geomancy have Blessing/Fortitude if i remember correctly. Just remember 1 thing: Higher Int - lower cd. With Hydro on 5 and int about 13-15 you should be able to spam Regeneration each turn.

And tbh, for me cleric starter is kinda like tanky warrior later :) Shield, heal and mace FTW!

I played before EE, and I'm still catching on to the changes.

It was easy to spread points too thin before, and it probably still is. It wasn't hard to build a sturdy cleric who could heal a lot, but actually doing melee damage was another story. My tanky characters never seemed to do much weapon damage, but they were able to use skills like Vampiric Touch for good damage. The reward for melee-range spells was pretty decent prior to EE.

I've considered going 2H weapons and not learning as many different skills to see how it goes, but I have doubts. There might be some low-hanging fruit on the spell tree that lets you primarily brawl and build strength, but I'm not sure whether it's worth it.

Man-At-Arms + 2h/bodybuilding on lvl 5 :) Hard to stun, a lot of dmg with stunlocks on almost every skill.

That's just Madora, though. Not really a Cleric thing.

I rather like that idea, might give that a go! have played Ranger and full Wizard so far.
