Most of your initial opponents are skeletons - which I believe are quite resistant to piercing/slashing damage. That's quite noticeable for archers and dagger classes early in the game.
I'm doing tactician mode with Lone Wolves with a friend of mine. Some fights are quite challanging and did require a few tries for us - but with good min/maxing it shouldn't cause too much issues. What you need is a wide variety of attacks and utility. You want both physical and magical attacks and to master the environmental effects. Some heal and defense doesn't hurt either, as we're often fighting 2 versus 6+ enemies with Lone Wolves (which can get really though when one or both of you receives crowd-control effects).
But your saying that fight is doable, despite my very low level characters. I'll try again. Like I said, I love a challange.
I do have that combination of characters you suggested. I just got to try diffrent methods. thanks
I found your problem.
D:OS even on normal is a game which can take some time to get used to. Tactician mode is aimed more at D:OS veterans who finished the game, and and are looking for more challenge. If you didn't play D:OS and are not used to the systems, Tactician will probably be a bit too challenging. Drop it back down to Classic and save Tactician for a second playthrough.
Tactician adds extra enemies and gives them more skills and dangerous tactics, so it won't play the same way even if you've beaten the game on Classic.
I had to actually use one of my precious health potions to survive that first fight on Tactician, and didn't even find any in the tutorial dungeon. If I hadn't had one char start out with First Aid (and it's 10% health heal) I'd have been in trouble.
The biggest drawback to Lone Wolf characters and especially Dual-Lone Wolf characters is if someone gets affected by a status which makes them unable to act - there are a lot of those. Lone Wolf is considered an extra step up in difficulty, which it is why it is not really recommended for a first-time playthrough.
Which is pretty early in the game.
Tactition mode will charge in with boars, surround you with snipers, then throw in a healing mage for good measure. If you are still not dead, it will aggro every enemy left within 100 yards.
I like it.
It may not be reasonably doable depending on what your starting skills and attributes are. I strongly advise against tactician mode unless you are already familiar with the game and its skills.
