witchcraft fits the bill pretty well. not pure necromancy but it does a good job of filling that gap

I think you can do more than one. If you have all followers w/ skills they can all summon stuff.

Each party member hcan have 1 summon max.. Meaning a party of 8, will have up to 4 summons, total of 8 available combatants..

Not worth it? I remember that many many times the only reason my party didnt get their ass handed to them cooked was summons who tanked and dealt dmg to the enemy(especialy if 2 guys know 2 summons they can cast after the other got killed to realy have some tanks in weak health group set ups), so having 4 extra bodys is realy something great, have to check taktician mode tho.

In the original game summons were so handy to have as they tanked everything really well. I remember when myself and my friend completed The original game last night that the summons pretty took all the end boss' aggro from us.
