Quest marker over Captain Aureus?

I am a couple of hours into the game and have level 3 characters. I have completed a few quests, not many. Currently I have 2 quest markers, one at a cave outside but I don't have a high enough level to get there. The second is a quest marker on Captain Aureus. I have been to him many times but nothing happens, it is the same old chat. I have presented so called the murder evidence but there is no new dialogue and why the marker is over his head I do not know. Is it a bug or is there something I have not done yet?

There are quest markers?

Edit: I see that there are .. never noticed actually. Anyway, the yellow star is still over that location for me, at level 18. So I guess it's permanent.

Just curious...Does he have anything to say to you at lv 18 that's current to what you're doing? If he doesn't then my guess is it's a bug. One of my source hunters came out of a fight with full health but a purple health bar indicating she had some kind of malady. It went back to normal color after a few saves.

Nothing at all. Do all quest markers stay on? Might just be the way the game is.

The first few quests I completed, the yellow markers disappeared for each quest. If Aureus's hasn't then unless you return to Cyseal later it must be a bug or something I missed (I even had him arrest and lock up all suspects thinking it would remove it but no joy). I think I have only a few side quests left to do before I venture west with my level 3 characters.

The map marker for Aureus remains until the end of the game. I assume that is because he is involved with the main plot, but not specific subquests that would trigger an update to that when completed.

Thanks Raze, at least that explanation clears it up. Damn, I even jailed Esmeralda, even knowing there wasn't enough evidence against her just to see if that would clear the marker. I hope she forgives me and I get to free her later in the game :)
