Getting to the secluded beach

I'm trying to get to the secluded beach to find Everlyn but the way is blocked with rocks all around it. Do I need to venture east and around to get there? (that section is too higher level for me atm).

There's a cave in the forest just North of town you have to go through to get to the beach.

To add to C'est's comment, you also need the reveal spell from everlyn's house. As the cave entrance is blocked by an illusion.

I haven't been in her house + didn't have any reveal spell

but I had a quest to destroy the giant robot - maybe from fab 5 or mayor

I looked everywhere and the only cave i can find is the one that leads to the robot the fab 5 want me to destroy north east.

That's the cave you need to go through. There's an exit behind the robot leading to the beach.
