Any reason to go above 4 points in skills?
...because to me it seems that changes nothing skillwise (at lvl 4 you can use all abilities without penalties), apart from some talents that are not even really needed. I am asking because, considering how "little" points you get (20 lvl max), I don't want to lose any!

Only if you want 2 master ranked skills, else there's little reason to.

20 is not a hard level cap. It's just what level the average player will be at the end. You can easily get 21. With some effort 22. And with extreme effort 23.

the only skills that its worth it to put 5 in is hydro and marksman. marksman has the best master skills in the game by far, and hydro has 3 really good skills (mass heal, mass disease, hailstorm) the conal hydro master skill can be good if your playing a hybrid mele probably.

every other skill only has one "must get" master skill unless you summon a lot, then youl want the poison slug, and you cant pass up on earthquake so put 5 in geo

But I can use max level skills even with 4 points (like mass heal)

Yes you can, but as I said, at level 4 you only get 1 master level skill, but at level 5 you can have 2 master level skills.
That's the only thing you gain, so as I said, only put more if you want another master level skill of that type.

hydro and marksman is a must to take it to 5. there are just too good of master skills to pass up. well worth the 5 points to take the skill to 5

Witchcraft master skills are pretty solid too. Soulsap and Death Punch make a deadly combo.

I wish 5 points in a skill would let you learn 1 more novice spell, at least. Or the level 5 talents weren't so underwhelming mostly.

i like the large cost for that one master skill. it adds a lot of unique builds.

In the original Death Punch was the... shizzle. Highest damage output single target in game.

However, in the EE the range is far too small and the damage for a single target just too weak. Some novice Expert Marksmen skills will deal more damage to a single target (scatter shot aimed at a single person) and have a far greater range. Soulsap can only be used once per combat and has a chance to miss (albeit small) and thus just ended up ticking me off more than it ended up helping me... Soulsap needs to be an AOE and Death Punch needs to do 2-4x more damage for a single target master spell...

And as I clearly said in my thread guide:

I would also go as far as to say that putting 4 points into a lot of the schools/skill trees isn't even worth the 4, let alone the 5...

Imo, don't go past 4, since the 5 points you can convert into almost 2 attribute points, which I think is more valuable.

I'm not sure I agree, but whatever you think is fun. I had 5 in dual wield and 5 in man-at-arms. That flurry hits like truck.

You also took 30 minutes to beat the final boss...

Yep, that's true. It was still fun though.
