Adventure's Kit Bow

I have the adventure's bow kit -- I somehow managed to place the first part in, but although I have parts 2 and 3 it wont let me combine them and it says the combination is invalid. The same goes for all the rest of the parts i've found for the adventure kits. Any ideas what could be going wrong?

I have this question also. I found the part 2 to the bow kit and to the sword kit tonight, but I don't understand how to use them. Combine Base Bow + Part 2 branch = INVALID COMBINATION. Same for Base Sword + Part 2 hilt. I have 5/5 crafting and smithing, too.

How do I combine them?

You need to combine the bow base kit with part I first (string), then part 2 (branch). Part 1 for the sword is a guard. They are both in Hiberheim, the string near the entrance to the elemental forge, and the guard Boreas' treasure room.

Thanks for the reply! I'm not sure why you would find part 2 before part 1 and create this confusion for players (who would assume the base kit *is* part 1), but I do appreciate knowing the answer.
