Four pillar puzzles

SPanking new to this genre of game but I'm digging it. Wish to high heaven I had larger bags for all my crap but there it is.

I've come across two 'cellars' with a specific puzzle. There's four pillars with buttons, and it looks as if each pillar is linked to a type of magic or something ? Every time one pushes a button the question is asked "has anything changed ?". Well I haven't noticed anything - so what am I missing anyone ?

The pillars have images on them that show the order of buttons you must press in the other dungeon. That's about as specific as I can remember it; if you want to get the correct order, it should be easy to look up on Google.

[Buu Introspectivo]

Just did it. There is a gravestone in each chamber. You make the order of pushing the Fire, Water, Air and Earth buttons from the OTHER chamber at each. After it versions of the base Roderick and Scarlett will spawn at each chamber. After you beat both you will have 2 pendants and 2 entrances to the tomb bellow. Put each pendant at the respective lock and the barrier protecting the treasure will vanish.
