Ornate Sword Bug.
So my friend and I have been playing through the game and I've stumbled across what I can only assume is a bug that ruins the game for me. If we continue our progress my rouge character will have two of the basic knives picture but the description will be a Ornate Sword requiring a certain amount of strength to use. As a rouge I can't use it since its all strength I have even looked around to buy more daggers, knives and etc but there all bugged. Neither of us have mods as it is just the base game. Does anyone know how to fix this?

If the other player takes control of your character, or checks with merchants, etc, do they see the same issue with daggers? the host can hit Esc to bring up the menu and use Assign Character to switch who controls which character.

Try verifying local files: in the Steam library, right click on Divinity Original Sin Enhanced Edition and select Properties, switch to the Local Files tab and then click on the 'Verify Integrity of Game Cache...' button.

If you create a new profile and start a new game (on explorer difficulty) do you have the same problem with daggers at merchants? Invisibility would let you skip the first 2 fights, though you'd need Lockpick level 2 for the city gate, and would need to duck into the tutorial cave to get a lockpick, so I'm not sure if that would make a big difference in time.

We tried verifying the local files. We did not switch characters but I did pass along the itiems and such and he saw just a regular dagger. I sent him a picture showing him what I saw, We both just reinstalled the game so I hope that work.
