AI Personality
Does it affect my gameplay in the future? I am new to this game and I don't know what it does.

There are times when you have to make a decision about what to do. If you give an AI personality that character will decide based on the personality you chose. If you don't give them one, you will select their dialog option manually.

These decisions result in the Traits for your characters.

For example, you will at one point notice thief stealing fish from a vendor in town. You are then given the option of turning them in or letting them get away with it. If both your characters agree then that is what happens. If they disagree a game of rock-paper-scissors will take place to see who gets to decide.

The result of that choice will assign a trait to the characters. In this case either Righteous or Renegade.

These traits can give you skill bonuses and even immunities.

Some people meta game these decisions for optimal character build development. But don't worry too much about it. You won't be crippled or anything if you just make the decisions based on role playing ideals.

Nice, thanks for the explanation. I appreciate it. Also is there any chance, that I can change this after creating the character?

No.

But they work on a weighted pairing system. For example you will get multiple opportunities to make a choice involving opposing traits such as: Independent vs Obediant, or Compassionate vs Heartless, etc...

Each time you make a choice you score 1 pt for that trait. Whichever of the opposing pair has the current highest score is the one who's bonus you get. If they are even, such as 2 Independent and 2 Obediant, neither bonus applies.

So once you make a choice for a pair for the 1st time you can then see them on the traits tab of your character sheet and decide which one you want to work towards and plan future choices accordingly.

Now I see, I guess I'll do it again. I want to enjoy this game with consequences. I will give both characters with different personality. Is it safe to let the AI companion decide on how they react to a situation, base on their personality?

Also on my very first walk through, I came across with the stone-paper-scissor mini game. Deciding on what to do with the talking shell.

Actually after you have opened a few rooms in Homestead you can change the AI.

Really? Now that's good news to me. I am still at the very beginning of the game.

I have been through the game many times but I have always chosen 'none' for the AI. I make all the decisions myself to fit my preference for what answers to give. Ocaisionally threads pop up here where players are upset because they wanted to make one choice but the AI on another character disagreed and they lost the rock-paper-scissors forcing the decison to go against their wishes.

Just keep in mind that if you decide to go with an AI you can end up in that situation.

But, also keep in mind that when the rock-paper-scissors mini-game pops up, you can hit F5 to auto-save at that moment and reload to retry again if you really don't want to lose that one decision.

I guess I'll try with AI first and later might change it, when I reach that homestead. I'm starting to like this game more, because of these features. Thanks for the tip. :)
