Rpg like Divinity but with grind similar to Final fantasy X and Dragon quest:8
As the title implies I'd like to find a rpg that has deep customization, very unique playstyles between roles, with random loot, like divinty original sin, monster grinding(Although not forced) and a party system. Addition of permadeath would be nice. Action or turn based is fine.

Perhaps my taste is too refined and not really achievable, or I don't really like single player rpgs.

Wasteland- I enjoyed it

Pillars of eternity- I couldn't really get into the game(I've tried to on a 3-4 different tries)

Torment: Tides- Started playing it and I enjoy the hour or two so far, but I get bored quickly playing it. I will probably come back to this one, despite not having all my desired mechanics.

Balrum- Its similar to Pillars and I enjoy the deep rpg elements, but alas I can't get into it.

Darkest Dungeon- Pretty fun, but I've only played a few hours, perhaps another try will enable me to really get into it.

Banner Saga- Couldn't get into it.

Xcom 1/2- Its okay but really only has perma death from my desired list.

Borderlands 2: I played for a little bit, but some odd reason I couldn't get into it despite enjoy fps games.

Fallout 4- Enjoy it in small bursts of 1-2 hours and not every day.

Plus a few indie others to give an example. Thanks for any advice.

I don't see Dragon Age: Origins on this list. Maybe you've played it already but if not, do.

My wife and I enjoyed Borderlands 1 worlds better than 2, same with Dead Island... That being said:

That sounds a lot like Skyrim (Elder Scrolls games) with mods to me...

RPG with deep customization: Check (some of the best if not the best on market)
Unique playstyles between roles: Check (some ES are better at this than others, mods help)
Random loot: Check
Non-forced Monster Grinds: Check (mods and/or DLC)
Party System: Two party system somewhat built in, mods make this a real option
Permadeath: Check

The reason why TES games have done as well as they have is because there isn't anything like them on the market.

EDIT: Dragon Age Origins is unreal good, one of my favorites... However:

RPG with deep customization: Only main char, the rest come premade so you have to build around
Unique playstyles between roles: Yes
Random loot: Not really... 90%+ of loot is the same each playthrough
Non-forced Monster Grinds: Nope
Party System: Yes
Permadeath: Nope

You could try some of the classic JRPGs. There are usually quite a bit of customization to be had, the option to grind to high power to make some fights easier(but not required, if you know what is going to happen), finding of loot(randomized and quest related), a deep story(usually) and perma death to non-essential characters(main characters and certain quest related characters are often not allowed to die. The rest of your party can have perma death, however).

Usually, character customization is a mix between your job(class), which is interchangable(so you can change during the playthrough) and picking talents/perks from already mastered classes. So for instance, you could have a Knight(Tank) that is able to use certain Fighter/Soldier(DPS) techniques or maybe a bit of healing(Cleric/White Mage). Or maybe being able to dualwield swords or casting fireballs as a Thief.

And you can customize each party member like this.

Some games, off the top of my head:
Tactics Ogre: Let's cling together
Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions

This, but i'd get the ps1 version as the psp version has audio visual dysync and lag

I'd get the PS version, that way you could JP glitch which is the most broken part of the entire game...

Have you played the older isometric games like Baldurs Gate and Planescape Torment? I actually liked Pillars better than Original Sin. Fallout and Elder Scrolls are great for all the modding and customization, but they aren't party-based. Witcher is great, but also a single character game and not a sandbox game like Elder Srcolls. I don't call Borderlands an rpg, it's an action game with some rpg elements. A lot of fun, though it becomes a pointless grind after awhile with you replaying the campaign just to level up for the next super boss. KOTOR is great, but it's a very story-driven game, not much in terms of customization. But it's a party-based game. Then there's Mass Effect, which is a lot like KOTOR gameplay-wise. Dragon Age: Origins is terrific.

Wizardry 8 is an awesome RPG that has similar tactical style, but with a first person view rather than bird's eye. Great customization, and use of terrain. It has random battles, as many as you want, but it's not as quick to show as FF or Dragon warrior. Still, probably my favourite RPG of all time.
