@wicked lester: that auto-heal would be from mod.
If your smart you will make every character with the basic list..
level 1 hydrosophist water spells, healing and rain
level 1 geomancer spells, for summon spider, oil, and rock
level 1 aero for teleport and wind of change
any archers level 1 scoundrel for haste, wings and invisibility
start your 2 main characters with summon spider, healing and what ever skill of their class you want to start with. Easy game. have fun. Oh, you need to bump constitution +1 at creation in order to summon the spider, so drop a stat and +1 con. Your party with summoned spiders is like having a total group of 2-4 more party members in battle.
Using food for healing is often overlooked, very cheap and very easy to craft, without requiring any point in Crafting or Blacksmithing.
If you want bedrolls, there is - at least - one mod that has bedrolls (or coffins for players with the Zombie talent ;-).
Another mod, Epic Encounters, might have automatic healing after combat I believe (not 100% sure), but I personally don't like the implementation because it uses character skills which triggers the skills' cooldowns. (I don't like my skills on cooldown when there is a "surprise attack".)
There is also one mod on the Nexus by "Abraxas" (modder's name) which does exactly that automatic healing. (And I think it might be the original source of Epic Enconter's healing implementation - if there is one in EE. Best look in EE's description.)
The disadvantage of the big mods is that they require starting a new playthrough, Abraxas' mod does not and it changes nothing else but the auto-healing stuff. The big mods change a lot.
Rangers & Wayfarers have the First Aid spell
Wizards with the Hydrosophist skill have the Regeneration spell
Aside from healing potions (which are best saved for use during combat) every character is able to heal using food.
EE does have automatic healing, but it doesn't use any skill cooldowns. Currently doing a run on it.
I am playing EE as well right now and there's no automatic healing, unless I am missing something.
Epic Encounters, not Enhanced Edition.
