Nemris
OK, what's this guy's problem? Other than A) Being dead and B) Being a pompous idiot.
Whatever dialogue lines I try with him, they all end up with him getting ticked off and attacking us.

Apparently, he wants to debate with someone who has in fact read his works, which I have not. I figured the Library would be a good place to look, but didn't find anything written by him there. Is there someplace else I should be looking?

I've found the book near the south of the library, the title is something about "death" I guess. You can maybe try and test various answers too. I dont remember them. Good luck !
The book is in the Cyseal Library and its title is the 'Philosophy of Death'.
You only need to talk to Victoria once and ask her if you can take books and then you can take it without being considered stealing. (If you haven't talked to her before)

You don't even need to bring back any of the books even if she says so. Might be for role players but the game scripts don't punish you if you don't. (the 'Rat Extermination' book is the only one that is not freed, so don't take that. It's not needed anyway.)

And of course there are 'correct' answers for Nemris.
I really feel like killing kim and his stupid green doggies, but I'm told he has some sort of quest if I do his debate thing. OK, thanks; I'll look for the book again.

Found the book. The quest is a bit funky though. As far as I can see, it requires you to play rock, scissors, paper until the one of your duo who has the correct answer wins. I had to go through it 5 times before the correct partner "won" and he was satisfied.
If you have an AI personality set for the non-lead main character, but don't want them to possibly object to your lead character's answers, you can leave them far enough away that they are not included in the conversation.

No it does not. AI you can set during character creation - might.
As far as I can see, his third question needs you to take opposing stances with your two mains. At which point the rock/paper/scissors thing pops up. After several tries, the "correct" partner won and he was satisfied and tossed us the reward chest.
